That's great, Gunit! I don't finish my books at the same time. I do just what you did and when I finish one I start another.

I have both The Power of Six and The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek on my TBR. Hope you enjoy them both!

Gunit Kaur Kalada | 160 comments Great...

I read I am Number Four years ago, but I never got around to reading the following books of the series. Math day in the monthly challenge reminded me of the book and I immediately grabbed the opportunity with a lot of excitement.

The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek is also going pretty good. The way the author showcases some of the issues in such an obvious way and the resiliency of the main character is quite charming.

I did the same! I read I am Number Four and actually pre-ordered The Power of Six, but never got around to reading it. The series has sort of exploded with 7 books in the series, plus a spinoff series (15 books) and now a sequel series with 3 more books. I may try to get back to it next year and at least get through the original series.

Teresa, I started Black Leopard, Red Wolf three different times and could not stomach the constant rapes and gore. The first time, I read about 25% and could not stomach it. The third time, I started about half-way in just to see if the trend continued, and it did almost every page, so that was enough for me. I dumped it which was a disappointment because I had so looked forward to it.

(The three reads were over about a year's time. Thankfully I don't own it. I checked it out from the library 3 different times.)

I DNF Range Of Motion. It was not my kind of story. It is one where you are in the person's head and you hear all their random thoughts and observations as they go through their day. I know they are popular with some people, but I find them boring and I can't engage with them. I made it to 13% and just decided I didn't have any interest in reading it.

I am starting Paris Never Leaves You and The Upside of Stress.

I am also finishing up I Hunt Killers. I think it's good, but not a favorite for me. It's definitely YA. I think the mystery part is good and I like the MCs, but I'm tired of the main narrator's repetitive thoughts about his own nature.

Kirsten (kmcripn) I finished reading Always the Last to Know by Kristan Higgins Always the Last to Know - Kristan Higgins's latest book. It's not as good - or I didn't enjoy it as much - as previous books by her I've read.

I've also been listening to The Race Beat The Press, the Civil Rights Struggle, and the Awakening of a Nation by Gene Roberts The Race Beat: The Press, the Civil Rights Struggle, and the Awakening of a Nation by Gene Roberts

I finished I Hunt Killers. I thought it was good, but nothing great. I got annoyed by the MC constantly questioning himself.

I started Tuesdays with Morrie. Right away I know it's going to be a little difficult for me. The authoris visiting his old college professor that is dying of ALS. I had a favorite uncle pass away from ALS. He was one of those men that everyone loved, just like the professor in the book seems to be.

Bridget Limeburner (bridget_limeburner) | 67 comments I just started The Midnight Library, which is a really tough read. The MC commits suicide very early in the book and the main plot is her between life and death and seeing what her life would have been like if she had made the choices that she regrets not making. I honestly can't remember the last time I cried just from the first 30 pages. It is very good though.

I finished How to Bake the Perfect Pecan Pie. I was hoping for a cute Thanksgiving read, but was sorely disappointed. I gave it two stars, but that might be generous. The writing was not good. It was repetitive and had too many things that just didn't ring true, like a cell phone with a dial tone when someone hangs up on you. I didn't care for the MC at all. She came across as childish at best. my review

I am a little more than 60% through Unfaithful. This one is better than the pecan pie book, but I'm not loving it. Again, I just don't like the MC. She makes too many dumb decisions. I hate when books have a supposedly smart MC that can't seem to make a good decision. But, at least the writing is decent, not great, but good enough.

I am also still reading Don't Overthink It and The Upside of Stress for #NonfictionNovember. So far, these two books are going much better!

Thanks, Vicki. I ended up really enjoying Tuesdays with Morrie. I thought the book was a wonderful way for Mitch Albom to honor his old professor and mentor.
