January 2020 Mini Challenge - New Year's Resolutions
Begins: 01Jan20 / Ends: 31Jan20

It's that time of year when people make resolutions to improve / change / declutter, etc. So this month's challenge tasks are inspired by some of the most common resolutions among my friends.

* Clear the TBR - Read any book that has been on your TBR for at least two years. Tell us when you added it.
* Lose Weight - Read a book whose title begins with a letter in DIET (excl: a, an, the)
* Get Healthy - Read a book whose author first and last initials are in: E X E R C I S E
* Save more money - Read a book with a GREEN cover (be sure to post the COVER for this task)
* Break a Bad Habit - Read a book where the 1st letter of each title word is found in the phrase: BREAK A BAD HABIT (2-word minimum. ALL words count.)

=============================================

RULES of the challenge

All books used must be a minimum of 100 pages long - Page length determined by HARDCOVER 1st edition. If there is no Hardcover, then the most popular paperback governs page #.

You may read in any format - text, audio or e-book.

You may use books you began in an earlier month, as long as you FINISH the book in the month of the challenge.

Completion entries must include:
Link to the book title
Date completed
Additional requirements, such as author name or cover image.

EXAMPLE of a successful post:
The Cat Who Saw Red - 09Dec19

You MUST finish the book before you can claim credit for completing the task.

If you'd like to be recognized as finishing, the challenge, please post a new comment alerting me to your finish. I do not get notifications when you edit your original post.

Enjoy!

The challenges are always open, Cathy. All you need do is to post the basic challenge items in a new post, and I'll create a link for you in the List of Participants.

Feel free to join this month's challenge and to include any books you've already finished this month which meet challenge task requirements.

Welcome to the challenge fun!

Oh my---in rereading the challenge, I guess I didn't finish after all because I didn't complete a book for each individual challenge. So, sorry about that but I sure enjoyed the process!!!

Well, it's all in fun, Beverly. If you got 8 books done in a month that fit various challenge tasks, that's still good work!

message 24: by Connie (new)

Connie D | 88 comments I did the same thing, Beverly. The rules have been relaxed so we can do more in some categories and skip some, right? I love that, because sometimes one category is just not going to happen for me. This time, I just couldn't get EXERCISE OR BREAK A BAD HABIT, which shouldn't have been hard!

message 25: by Koren (new)

Koren (koren56) | 768 comments Finished! For 'break a bad habit' I'm going with the title 'Bad Boy' and not the entire subtitle. I didnt notice until I went to post it that there was a subtitle and there's not enough time to start another. On to next month's challenge!

The rules are the rules ... but none of this goes on your permanent record, so just enjoy and have fun.
