Toothless (gopalcnepal) I have many failed attempts in past to read more than 5 books. In 2019 I set small challenge of 5 books and ended up reading 7. Thanks to my friend for motivating me.

So here comes 2020 and my target is to read minimum of 12 books. I hope I can achieve it.

I prefer mostly non-fiction books. To be more ambitious I am planning to read one series too and fiction or classics this time.

I will be sharing my list as and when I read the books in this thread.

Wish me luck!!!

I would encourage you not to think of it as a failure, but as an accomplishment. 5 books is not a bad goal by any means. It's still 5 more than some people read in a year ;)

What topics do you tend to read about within non-fiction? Do you have a particular classic in mind?
Best of luck reaching your goal this year!

Toothless (gopalcnepal) Thank you Lisa for the inspiration. Now I feel I have accomplished something :)

Mostly Self-help, some biography and books like Sapiens, which is next on my list ;P

Cool :) Looking forward to seeing what you thought of Sapiens. That one is definitely on my TBR, but I keep putting it off... Have you read Homo Deus?

Something that helps me is I set a reading goal to read 5% of my book nightly. This allows me to get through a book once a month. I am working on trying to get through even more (by increasing my minimum on the weekends when I have more time), but having a daily reading goal helps me get to the bigger goal.

Thank you Tamji. Yes, this time I have been using that technique. I have been setting limits like at least 20 pages a day. That would be around 2hrs a day. During weekends reading more.
