Dee (austhokie) | 345 comments anyone here interested in doing a YA-MA focused diverse reading challenge in 2020? I realized late 2018 that my reading was very myopic in terms of authors/characters - so in 2019 I found a diverse reading challenge and focused on on trying to read more books that fell into one of the 9 categories.

In 2020 - i'm planning on continuing the challenge, and would love for people to join in if they are interested

the categories were:
1) Author/Character of Color;
2) Transgendered Author/Character;
3) Refugee/Immigrant Character/Author;
4) LBGTQUIA Author/Character;
5) Author/Character from Religion Other than Own;
6) Author/Character with a Mental Illness;
7) Neurodiverse Author/Character;
8) Native/Indigenous Author/Character
9) Author/Character with a Physical Disability

Melanie | 1911 comments I can get behind this for sure. I agree that I unfortunately need to make a choice to read diversely.

Melanie | 1911 comments I am going to move this into the challenges folder ... because I have organizational OCD.
