This is a great question, I would like to know this myself!In order to be able to answer (if I can answer), I need access to my art books, which I don't have right now. I keep all of my art books on two specific bookshelves in my front room and right now those two shelves are decorated for the holidays and my books are stacked in my office closet out of reach. So it will be a couple weeks, I guess, before I can answer based on those that I have (If I have any) but I will look around for you.

I took some pictures of the two I think are beautiful. I'm not sure what, exactly, you are seeking, but IMO, these are beautiful and have a special place in my house.
I will try to post pictures of them here. It may take a few minutes as I have to first put them on the net somehow then I can post them with HTML.
The pages are gold but when I tried to take a picture of just the pages from the side, it turned out looking almost yellowish.
Anyway...
My friend was living in Florence at the time and he mailed this to me as a gift! This is quite a gift, and to mail it? He was awesome.
yes... my parents have an edition of this book i just loved....when i was little my granparents had an illustrated book by anatole france that i was fascinated by.

The books could be art instruction books, books based on visual artists, mainly painters and sculptors, basically anything that is beautiful pages to look at.
I really love the quality of the hardcover books by Andrew Loomis.
The best book I own is The Complete Leonardo by Taschen.
