ABANDONED. Book about parents of 4 year old who drowns. I am unsure, but I think it is adult.

So the book I am looking for is part of a series. I think it is adult, but it is clean. I have no ideas what categories it falls under. I read it sometime in 2013-2016, but it wasn’t new. The book is about a girl (I think she was 4) who drowns at a pool and is under for a long time. They save her but she has brain damage. The story focuses on the parents. Their relationship wasn’t good before the accident, but it became worse. (view spoiler)[ The father starts taking painkillers and gets addicted, and even tries to kill himself at one point (hide spoiler)] It may have been a Christian series but I am not 100% sure. I’d love help here!
