I LOVED reading Gone With the Wind! It was cool how it made the movie more complete to me. Reading Scarlet and Rhett's characters and their full relationship added a lot.

I just finished The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo! It really felt like a Rory book to me. Here's the one line summary from Wikipedia: "The novel tells the story of the fictional Old Hollywood star Evelyn Hugo (loosely based in part on Elizabeth Taylor), who at the age of 79 decides to give a final interview to an unknown journalist, Monique Grant."

Angelina wrote: "I just started The Ninth House"

I finished The Ninth House back in early January, I think. I heard about it on NPR. I am a fan of books set at colleges and universities, especially the Ivy League schools. The Ninth House was particularly interesting in the context of this book club, because Rory went to Yale.

message 28: by Lucy (new)

Lucy | 1 comments I'm reading through the pandemic, from Harry Potter rereads to thriller books such as The House Swap by Rebecca Fleet ♥️

message 29: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Siminger | 5 comments I joined not that long ago, and I'm starting this reading challenge through the Gilmore book club. I started it mainly because I wanted something more constructive to do during this pandemic, and I've enjoyed it so far. I can't believe how many books have been banned for what is normal in today's world.

One of my favorite books! I think I cried a bit in that one. The movie was close to the book, but it didn't deliver the same emotion (just seemed depressing).

message 39: by Angelina (new)

Angelina Fiore | 14 comments Oh that is a great book. I was hesitant to read when it came out. But loved it.

Shel Gillen (lanari08) | 1 comments I'm brand new to this group, but have been working on the RGBC for about a year! That, combined with books I happened to have read, I'm only about 45 in!!

I'm debating trying The Divine Comedy next...!

message 41: by Angelina (new)

Angelina Fiore | 14 comments What do you suggest ?

message 42: by Louise (new)

Louise Bentley | 3 comments I didn’t realise this group was not fully active. I’m going to post when I’ve read something mentioned in other posts however I’ve got my own list going on that I find it hard to deviate from so just hope to cross paths.

I find describing what I’ve read quite hard, am not used to thinking about it and discussing but see it will do me good to practice.

What are you reading right now?
