A Robin Reads (arobinreads) Hello awesome writers!

I really like to support you all and want to read and review as many books from you guys as possible. Therefore I made this topic, because I really get lost in this group sometimes. You can comment on this topic if you need a review. Please keep in mind the following things:

- The genre I don't like is horror. For romance I don't want any smut in it (or as less as possible). If you have a nonfiction it really needs to be specific for me, so you can always ask, but I'm not sure I'm going to review it.
- If your book is part of a series, I only want to read it if I can read it all.
- Please comment with a certain date you need the review, because I have a schedule with ARCs and am not sure if I can fit it in. If you don't have a certain date: great! I will read it asap.

Feel free to leave a comment. I will send a message to you privately with me email if I want to read your book. Thank you all very much! :)

I have two books that I'd like reviews for. There's a fantasy adventure story (book 1 of a duology) Exile and there's a UK-set contemporary fantasy Shadows of Faerie. I can supply ebooks of either one if they sound interesting to you.

Ted Berner | 8 comments Hi Robin, I have a novel I'd love for you to review if you are interested. It's a mystery based on Genesis 6:4 in the Bible. It does have somewhat of a cliffhanger ending and I am writing a sequel, but it can stand alone too. Here is a link so you can read more about it in case you are interested. Thank you.

Daniel Smith | 2 comments Hi Robin. Would very much like your opinion on my book, Prinz David's Castle. It's a historical fiction novel set in 1939 Germany. While touching on the atrocities committed against the Jewish people, it's main focus is on the seldom-told story of the attempted extermination of people with disabilities and other Germans who didn't fit the Aryan ideal.

Just Fin | 3 comments Hi Robin,

I've written a couple of books on the issue of tax havens. Would greatly appreciate it if you could consider these for a review.

These are light, quick (under an hour) and easy reads that describe the issues in a humorous style. While the books are written using humor, the issues being discussed are real and factually correct. The aim is to make it easier for non-finance professionals to understand the issues at hand.

Book 1 is In Defense of Tax Havens - Why and How to Join the Club?. It's a humorous take on the benefits of tax havens to the rich and the powerful, and why it makes sense for all of us to join this club.

In Defense of Tax Havens

Book 2 is Uber Tax Haven- Tax Haven for the Masses. The book speaks about the potential to start a revolutionary company that can make tax havens accessible to everyone and how governments could still earn revenues in a superior way if everyone stopped paying taxes due to using Uber Tax Haven.

In Defense of Tax Havens

Many thanks for your consideration.

Best Regards,
Just for Fin.

Pemry Janes | 2 comments Hey Robin,

I actually have the second book in my fantasy series coming out next week. I would be very appreciative if you could review both.

Neither of them are very long. The first, The Living Sword, is actually a novella.

Eurik was found adrift by the san and raised by them. Though he had read much about the outside world, he'd never considered leaving home. Not until his teacher revealed what he had inherited from his parents: a living sword, a sentient blade of rare power . . . and with it, the names of his father and mother.

Reluctant to go, yet curious, Eurik sets out to discover who they were, and what happened to them. But is he ready for all the attention his heritage will earn him? Can he survive in a world he has only read about?

Goodreads

The Living Sword 2 - The Road Ahead doesn't have a goodreads page yet, but it is available on Amazon.

Claire Dickinson | 17 comments Hi Robin,

I have two books that I'm trying to get reviewed. They are the following:
City of Dark by Claire Dickinson City of Dark
This is a thriller set in the Paris catacombs. An anti-terrorist cop and a young, female engineer join together to save Paris.

The other one is a children's book (middle grade) about two brothers who go on a rip-roaring adventure across Europe (Paris to Berlin) to save their mum from kidnappers:
Old Kurt, Two Gorillas and a Bagful of Diamonds Paris-Berlin by Claire Dickinson Old Kurt, Two Gorillas and a Bagful of Diamonds: Paris-Berlin

If you're interested in either, I'd love to hear from you.

E.A. Wicklund (eawicklund) | 5 comments Hi Robin,

My book is a Space Opera with humor, and touch of romance. Captain Evander McCray's love life is struggling and his career is too. He captures a pirate as he was ordered, but politically the worst person possible. When an enemy battle cruiser arrives to take over the Huralon star system, McCray's life gets a whole lot worse. That’s okay, McCray is a wily combat veteran, and he has a plan.

Trouble is, no battle plan survives contact with the enemy.

The book can be found here:

Cheers!

Shel Calopa (shelcalopa) | 7 comments Hello!

How about something very different? In December I launched an Aussie dystopian scifi called Letters from the Light.

It's getting great reviews but the readership is tiny as it's hard to get the word out when you are small press published and living on the bottom of the world. A review from you would be fabulous!

Set in a future Australia, Letters from the Light explores ableism and abuse of power, celebrates diversity and asks what it really means to be humane.

Take a look here for reviews... https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...

It would be an honour to send you a copy of my book.

Thanks Shel Calopa

Earik Beann | 7 comments Hi Robin,

Do you like Science Fiction? If so, here's one for your consideration:

The Earthling's Brother by Earik Beann
The Earthling's Brother

Here's the blurb:
-----------

Sam never knew his parents. In fact, he’s never met another human—or seen a sunrise, smelled a flower, or eaten a regular meal. All of that is about to change.

It’s night in the desert, but he doesn’t feel the cold. The sky is clear, and the stars twinkle at him. He has never seen the sky from Earth before. Everything looks so strange. So . . . alien. He shakes his head in wonderment and laughs. He can’t stop smiling. This is Earth!

There is a building ahead. Other people will be inside. His heart skips a beat as he takes a step forward, the rocks crunching under his bare feet. He has dreamed of this moment for as long as he can remember.

But that which can be found can just as easily be lost again. It would have been better had Sam’s arrival gone unnoticed. But the artificial life form known only as the Authority is not one to miss such things. Nearly as old as time, and almost as powerful, the Authority was built by an ancient civilization as both an enforcer and a war machine, the destroyer of worlds. It has been watching Sam his entire life. Watching, and waiting, and judging. And now, it has decided that it’s time to act.

----------

Thanks,
Earik

Ryan Krol | 2 comments How about some science fiction? It has some scary moments, but it’s not a horror. It’s more of a thrilling adventure.

Basically, you mix George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, Michael Crichton, and Stephen King in a blender. Then, add The Andromeda Strain, Alien, The Thing, Ghostbusters, and The Goonies, and you'll experience Syndrome.

Available in both paperback and Kindle: https://www.amazon.com/Syndrome-Ryan-...

Kiran Bhat (originalsin_0421) Hello Robin,

Thanks for being willing to offer your time. I am Kiran Bhat. I am an Indian-American polyglot, traveler, and writer. I have traveled to over 130 countries, lived in 18 different places, and speak 12 languages. I try to use my lifestyle and perspective as a means to create globalised works of literature. I'm in the middle of a book tour, but have realized that I have done very little work to get reviews of my work onto the Internet; I am trying to fix this now. Would any of you guys be interested in reviewing my novel, we of the forsaken world...?

In a distant corner of the globe, a man journeys to the birthplace of his mother, a tourist town destroyed by an industrial spill. In a nameless remote tribe, the chief’s second son is born, creating a scramble for succession as their jungles are being destroyed by loggers. In one of the world’s sprawling metropolises, a homeless one-armed woman sets out to take revenge upon the men who trafficked her. And, in a small village of shanty shacks connected only by a mud-and- concrete road, a milkmaid watches the girls she calls friends destroy her reputation.

we of the forsaken world…, published by Iguana Books on January 22nd, 2020, is structured as a linguistic chain comprising the accounts of 16 people, connected along subtle lines, who indirectly witness these four narratively and geographically diverse central storylines. The story flows and recombines like digital connectivity, throwing into question pre-21st century assumptions about narrative logic and, I hope, embodying the way in which modern communication unites this planet every second, everywhere.

If you are interested in reading it, you can get a copy on amazon (https://www.amazon.com/we-forsaken-wo...), or I will happily send you a review copy if you pm me. Just let me know what works for you.

Best wishes,

Kiran

Caleb Fast | 4 comments Hi Robin Reads,
I have a sci-fi that I think may be of interest to you,
The Battle for Allegra: Conscripted is a short story (12,000 words). My book is a military sci-fi that is about an alien invasion, and it has a good amount of action, so it may be of interest to a thriller fan like you.
The main character is a 20-year-old fisherman from a quaint village who's got a lifelong crush. But, he ends up getting ripped away from both his girl and his home to fight a gruesome war.

If you are interested, you can get a free review copy here on Story Origin:

Yes, this is book one in a series, but the rest aren't out yet, so bear with me! :)

Catherine Stine | 13 comments Hi Robin!

I'm seeking reviews for my new historical fantasy, Witch of the Wild Beasts. Here's a short blurb for you:
Is Evalina’s supernatural bond with animals her curse or salvation?

In 1854, when a cruel doctor kills her brother, Evalina’s “wild beasts” come to her aid. She’s imprisoned for witchcraft in Philadelphia’s Penitentiary amidst extreme medical mischief. Evalina and Birdy, a fellow inmate; devise an ingenious but risky scheme to get justice. If they fail, not only will the doctor’s evil deeds continue unchecked, but Evalina and her crew will surely be hung.

Thanks, Catherine
