I haven’t read this book but I read the description and really want to read it but can’t remember the title or author. I believe the book is contemporary, I discovered it around 6 months ago. The book is about this boy who is living in modern times but occasionally he will be missing for an extended time and during those times he is living a different life as a soldier in one of the world wars. His present self knows his soldier’s self death date and is trying to stop his visits to the past ( he doesn’t have control over them) to avoid dying ( I’m guessing if he dies during the war his future self also dies). His visits to the past are becoming more frequent and last longer and he is worried about that, he also falls in love with a girl in his modern life. In his modern life he lives on a farm/ in the country, and I think he lives with his uncle but I’m not sure. The girl he falls in love with was a friend from childhood and lives elsewhere, but is staying with a relative for the summer. At the beginning of the book it is winter in his war life but summer/spring in his modern life.
