Excellent thank you Jamie and hi, why is it when ever we need a spreed sheet we are on the same team lol.
Hi, I'm new. So for the spreadsheet do we just add the books we've read to the corresponding letter?
Mummy's Naughty Corner wrote: "You sure 6 boards will be enough :P I'm joking I know we can add more if needed."Haha.. Yeah, how many did we go through in Oct?
Hi and welcome. You can add them before you read them there is a colour code so we know at what stage everyone is. Feel free to add a few books.
Wendigo, yes, as you are about to start or have started a book, add it to the SS to the letter you are using. There is a color key chart so we all know what the status is. If we need to, later in the month, books might be moved around to finish out the expression Happy New Year since we get bonuses each time we do.

Too many but it was fun trying to find books or am I weird.
Ok thanks, I'll be sure to add some books I have planned once I finish doing a few things. The person I was hoping to be on the same team as was placed on the opposition, so all of that energy has turned competitive.

Yep me and Jamie are still battling and will be until the 1st then we'll be friends again. (psst I'm winning :P)
Yeah, too bad I just realized you can look at the other teams chats. My team is taking you down, we're pros (I know you see this)

(psst I'm winning :P)"Haha...Yeah you naughty kids you...you know you been cheatin to win. Just kidding! I've been sick all month so my reading has been almost non-existent between trying to survive the colds (and now the flu thanks to my aunt) and crazy work hours. So looking forward to January where things settle down.
Luisa wrote: "We can change the letter we claim?"To the best of my knowledge, yes. Sarah has always allowed it in the past unless she specifies otherwise. Just be sure to leave a new comment requesting the change, don't edit the post. Although for how open this challenge is, that shouldn't be an issue until the last week or so.
I'm going to see if anyone wants to buddy read any of the books I want to read in January before I add anything on to the spreadsheet. Thanks Jamie! 😁
Checking in! Sadly, I can't post anything on the spreadsheet, since my iPod says it's not compatible with Google Sheets. Here's my plan so far for the new year:
-Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
-Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
-The Rest of the Story by Sarah Dessen
-Fields on Love by Jennifer E. Smith
-Renegades by Marissa Meyer
-Archenemies by Marissa Meyer
-Supernova by Marissa Meyer
Please put each book in whatever spot is available, and if anybody wants to buddy read any of these books with me, just tell me. 🙂

If you can let us know whenever you start (or about to start) a book I can add it in for you. :) This way we don't get too far ahead if that is okay.
Guys, I've moved some books around in the spreadsheet (trying to complete the harder letters first) I hope you don't mind.
Carolyn wrote: "Yeah. That's good. @Luisa- When are you starting the Crooked Kingdom BR?"
The 3rd, but it's ok, I can always go back and discuss it with you.
Luisa wrote: "Guys, I've moved some books around in the spreadsheet (trying to complete the harder letters first) I hope you don't mind."I wouldn't worry about that right now since we can use any letter if you want to save your time. I highly doubt we will get stuck anytime soon. Probably better to move things around later as we read and finish them. That will be the largest factor that will come into play.
Sorry, I just like to have everything sorted at all times. If that's ok I'd like to organize them as we go.
We do organize as we go. :) But if we are constantly moving books it can confuse people on what they are posting for. Especially for those that can't regularly check the SS. Plus you can literally spend hours a week doing that once we get started (I speak from experience on this) Better to wait until we are close to finishing a board (and by that I mean most books read and posted) then move things around to close it out. Plus be sure to explain any moves you make in chat like (specify what you move where). Mummy and I were recently on another team together with a very similar challenge so we got this SS style done pat. Plus Mummy can READ a lot. She can likely put out books quicker than we can keep up lol. It will be more helpful to read than worry about the SS constantly. But it is up to you in the end. But always check with us each time when you move anything please. To avoid confusion.

Plus you can literally ..."I'm not that bad.....Okay I am. The 3 books I have posted are due on the 1st and 2nd lol so I'll be added them fast. Don't worry Luisa we are pros now. You can move things about but like Jamie says please post about it so people know. Once we start reading it wont look so bad. I have 14 books set up in buddies (which can be increased as some are series) So we will have plenty of letters. I'm also good at adjusting my reading towards the end of the month to fill in missing letters.
So, how does this really work? I’ve read the rules and everything but I’m not sure yet. I read the book, review it normally on Goodreads, then I go to the teams reviews topic and put it there like the example on the teams thread? Is that it? I didn’t understand that counting points thing they have tho.
Basically. Be sure to look through all editions of the book you are reading and use the highest page count (link to the edition) when you post the pages. It doesn't have to be the edition you actually read/reviewed. The more pages, the more points. The only exception is ibooks or books with 4x the amount of pages to any other edition.Poetry/verse books, graphic novels , middle grade or books with pictures are less points overall. Since they are often of a lesser word count and/or easier to read. If you read any of these be sure to meet the page requirements to use a letter when possible (you can add up the books to meet these).
Buddy points double that score.
As a team we get more bonus points each time we finish the expression "Happy New Year.
Mummy I feel a bit foolish. We had discussed reading A Shade of Kiev together and I thought I would have to wait for the library but its also KU. So we can BR it whenever. Although between the 12th and the 24th is preferred if possible.
It's back. Got to love how it saves history :) I can make it view only but then only I could edit it unless everyone sends me their emails so I could allow them so that has to be a group decision. I have never known people to do something like that intentionally here but it could be someone tried to copy the SS and wanted a fresh look on theirs and screwed up. IDK...
So poking around in the other chat threads. Most other teams don't even seem to be using them and even Maddie has said they probably arent' needed as it will be tracked in a way on the review threads. SO my guess is this will work a lot like the x-files challenge. So the SS is mostly for our piece of mind or to double check any errors (hopefully none) are made. So I'd say don't worry so much about letters right now. Pick books you'll enjoy reading and and can cruise though. Don't get stuck on something you don't like just because there is a letter gap. If we still are stuck on a letter somehow toward the end of the month, we can focus more on it then.Meanwhile I wish everyone a fantastic New YEAR!
Wendigo wrote: "Ok, I got the books that I'm going to be reading (sorry for the delay)"What are you starting with? So we can add to the SS. :)
