Happy New Year! I just finished a book I've been working on in December, so we can claim the 100 pages for points. I'm now starting Six of Crows. What is everybody else starting the new year off with?
I read Ghost files 5 this morning on Gender Lie now. that will probably take the rest of the day.
I started Skyward a few hours ago, probably will finish it today and read Red, White and Royal Blue (today or tomorrow). Also starting Red Queen tomorrow.FYI: There’s a buddy read for Crooked Kingdom (Six of Crows #2) for the 3rd.
Started For Wreck and Remnant. :) Will start Concealed tonight in bed or tomorrow morning.

Alright I moved Carolyn's books (except Six of Crows) into a separate Plan to Read list for books that we think we will get to, have brs for etc that are later in the month. This was spots are not being held and waited upon. So if others have books they want add to that feel free. I made 2 columns to start with for them. :)Also, Carolyn, Luisa has your Six of Crows covering the letter E in YEAR.
I moved a couple books from board 2 to board 1 but still on the same letters. Except Luisa, I moved Skyward to Y on board one.
So now our first board is books we either are reading or plan to start very soon. :)

Didn't read basically anything today. Oops. I'll read some tomorrow. I think I can try to finish this by Friday at the earliest and Sunday at the latest. I'll definitely be joining the Crooked Kingdom BR. Quick question: can we use any letter for this challenge from the title and the author? If so, yay! I'm glad we got Mummy on our team. It makes me feel fairly confident.
Yes any Letter even series title or we can use the y in the title BY author. Sarah really left this open for us :)
SS updates:- Removed Red, White and Royal Blue, that was in H1 (I started reading it but didn't like it).
- Added Honestly, Ben by Bill Konigsberg in H1.
- Moved Skyward from Y1 to W1 (since I claimed W).
- Moved Somewhere Only We Know by Maurene Goo (Adriana) from W1 to Y1 (where Skyward was).

Swapping W for Y and vice versa is pointless. You never had a W spot. Carolyn did and Adriana did have it. You had an A but there was a spot to fill on the first board. Please do not make changes that are unnecessary like that. Moves should only happen to fill blanks or to move up finished/in progress books vs unstarted at this point.
Also, when you are just changing yours and it doesn't effect others (like the removing of a book you aren't going to finish) you don't have to state that kind of change if you don't want to. :)Although sorry to hear that book didn't work out for you. That is never fun. Especially to kickstart the year. Did you enjoy Skyward at least? Hopefully that was better and wishing you luck on your next book. :)
Honestly I think it might be best, since this is a very open challenge for options, as long as we are only posting books on the SS boards that we are actively reading or about to start, that we NOT swap letters at all. At least not for awhile. Lets see how it goes. The "boards" are just for our tracking anyways. We don't have to complete them in order. Once we get into the last week or two we can focus on filling specifics as needed. What does everyone else think?

Oh and not on the ss- I am listening to a book I started before this month but I will be getting us some page pts for that whenever I finish it.
Okay we are doing well already lol. I'm babysitting but they are going through my films so it's nice and easy and I'm getting some reading done. I hate the start of challenges because I have this list of books and I panic that I wont get them done but I have to remind myself that it's only a few days in.
Really? Wow. I'm hoping to post a review for a book I started in December but finished yesterday. We'll get like 1 point, but oh well. Going shopping today, so can't read while shopping but can while we're traveling there and back.
Carolyn that's great. I read really fast and I have 4 days left of my holiday so making the most of it. As long as you read the required amount (which i believe is between 4-8 books) then you are fine.

I imagine it's the same for people who consistently fail to reach the minimum for serious or medium. I think it's like 2-3 months?

It's not a guarantee. Sarah just tries to keep the teams as even and fair as possible.
Also, it's always fun to make new friends and you can always drop in on your friend's threads and chat. I do that all the time. Like now for example. lol.
Just keep trying for medium and let her know this. She does take into account what we normally read to keep teams even and she does try to team us with whom we want so she might. She might insist though too. Hard to say. If she ever says anything maybe just message her explaining that you have more fun with the people who play medium and go from there. Or have a month under 12 (j/k -don't drop your standards).

Anna I'm so used to being on your team i didn't even notice that you weren't in the team lol.I'll talk to Sarah if it comes up plus I'm always scared that I'll lose interest and stop reading so much.
lol. I am a secret ninja. No one is ever sure if I'm on their team or not. :PI'm sure that won't happen but even if it does Sarah does give you a few chances before she asks you to bump down. She is very fair. ^_^
