Klancy Hoover-Davis | 1333 comments That's such a great idea! I would totally be down to meet everyone on a trip abroad. Think of all the reading nooks we would find 😍When did you go to Italy??

Ohhh, I also love thrillers that take place at boarding schools so I'll have to check Good Girls Lie out. And I'll definitely let you know how The Starless Sea is! I'm listening to the audiobook and it has a full cast so I'm very excited about it

Jacquelyn Simon (jacquelynrose94) | 2166 comments I need to wrote my review and submit Good Girls Lie by J.T. Ellison
I'm still trying to process it and figure out what I think. I should post it tomorrow. 🤞🏻

Right?? It would be SO fun!
What state do you live in? Even a trip in the US would be fun too 🤣 I've been dying to visit Seattle, it seems like a book lovers dream. 💕

I went to Italy and France in 2013. It's been a while, but it was amazing. I spent the Easter of 2013 in Paris!

If you ever need recommendations on thrillers based in boarding schools, then hit me up! Lol
Or if you have any recs that would be amazing! I'm kind of obsessed. 😅

Klancy Hoover-Davis | 1333 comments I’m from Indianapolis, Indiana! I would love to visit Seattle and maybe even Portland. Am I sensing a road trip? 😏 We will need to create the best playlist immediately! What state are you from?

That sounds like it would be a lot of fun! The only bad part about traveling is the plane ride. Sitting for hours lol.

Yes, I would love recommendations! I’ve only read a couple boarding school mysteries/thrillers: People Like Us and Hysteria. I liked People Like Us a lot!

message 56: by Jacquelyn (new)

Jacquelyn Simon (jacquelynrose94) | 2166 comments @Klancy Oh wow! I'm from Louisville, Kentucky! That's so crazy that we are in bordering states! 😱🤣 Hell yeah, road trip! 🤣

That's very true! Flying over the ocean freaks me out though too.

I've read People Like Us, I liked it, but was disappointed by the ending. 😭

message 57: by Shae (new)

Shae Petersen | 6944 comments I’m so sorry I’ve been MIA, these fires have been consuming me and I’ve just constantly been reading things about them etc when I would normally be reading books!

What are you guys reading/ planning to read the next week? Maybe I should see if there’s something that interests me/ I can get and I’ll join :)

message 58: by Klancy (new)

Klancy Hoover-Davis | 1333 comments @Jacquelyn - 😱 I didn’t realize we lived so close! If you’re ever in Indiana definitely feel free to meet me for coffee or something 🤗

Oh no! Was it disappointing because you figured out how it would end?

@Shae - Don’t worry about it. Your safety is more important. Let any of us know if you need anything!

I’m starting A Heart So Fierce and Broken and Aristotle & Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe on the 15 for buddy reads. I just started Starry Eyes today! Feel free to join any of them ☺️

message 59: by Jacquelyn (new)

Jacquelyn Simon (jacquelynrose94) | 2166 comments @klancy I live across the river from southern Indiana, so I rarely go farther north than that, but if it ever in the area, I’ll let You know! Also, same here, let me know if you are ever in Kentucky. 😃

message 60: by Jacquelyn (new)

Jacquelyn Simon (jacquelynrose94) | 2166 comments @Shae How is everything going with the fires near you? Unfortunately, I'm not very informed, but I've been thinking about you every day.

message 61: by Jacquelyn (new)

Jacquelyn Simon (jacquelynrose94) | 2166 comments Hey y’all. Sorry I've been lazy with writing reviews. I believe I have three to post. Good Girls Lie by J.T. Ellison The Echo Killing (Harper McClain, #1) by Christi Daugherty In the Darkness (Zoe Bentley Mystery, #2) by Mike Omer

message 62: by Klancy (last edited Jan 12, 2020 09:37AM) (new)

Klancy Hoover-Davis | 1333 comments @Jacquelyn - Definitely! I'd love to meet up sometime and discuss books 🤗

No worries! Writing reviews can be hard sometimes trying to come up with what you want to say. I always have to stop myself from revealing too much in reviews.

I'm starting Starry Eyes by Jenn Bennett tonight after I go with a friend to see Little Women. I'm hoping to have it done before the 15! That's when a lot of my BRs start

message 63: by Jacquelyn (new)

Jacquelyn Simon (jacquelynrose94) | 2166 comments I caught up on my reviews.
Is writing reviews exhausting for anyone else as well?

I'm currently reading Daisy Jones and The Six, but I think I might DNF it. 😞

I might start on The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James next.

Jacquelyn Simon (jacquelynrose94) | 2166 comments Would Split Tooth by Tanya Tagaq count as a novel?

message 65: by Klancy (new)

Klancy Hoover-Davis | 1333 comments It should work! The minimum page number for novels for the challenge is 200

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been so active in the chat. My house was hit with the flu and it's just been one sick person after another. Now I have it and am home from work. Hopefully I can get some reading done!

message 67: by Klancy (new)

Klancy Hoover-Davis | 1333 comments Oh no! A house full of sick people sounds like a huge nightmare, especially when it's the flu. Hopefully it doesn't hit you too hard!

But also, yay for getting to stay home and read 🤣

message 68: by Klancy (new)

Klancy Hoover-Davis | 1333 comments Hey, guys! We’re doing great 🤗 I think we’re second now!

I was wondering if anyone would be able to cover the two Ps? The two books I’m reading at the moment won’t cover them and I wanted to ask in case I need to pick up something that can cover the letter

message 69: by Jenn (new)

Jenn (tellingmelies) | 9733 comments Mod
I can cover the 2 P's! I will have the reviews up as soon as I get home from work.

Awesome! :)

What's been everyone's favorite read of the month so far?? I just started Ink in the Blood yesterday and I already know that it's going to be my favorite. It's so good!

Hello Team Bulbasaur, just to let you know that I've split up Team Squirtle as they weren't doing very well. Because of this, María and izzy will be joining your team.
I've let them know that they're moving, and I'll transfer their points which they've already earned over to your review thread. Someone will just need to choose which letters to use them for ☺

message 73: by María (new)

María | 2037 comments Hi! I'm joining this team. I have three more review to post:
1. Jane Unlimited
2. Met her match
3. Hit & Run
Can you tell me what letter use?

message 74: by Klancy (new)

Klancy Hoover-Davis | 1333 comments Definitely use E for one of them. I think that'll finish off another Happy New Year for us :)

message 75: by María (new)

María | 2037 comments So an E, an A and a N?

message 76: by Klancy (new)

Klancy Hoover-Davis | 1333 comments Sure! That should work!

message 78: by Klancy (new)

Klancy Hoover-Davis | 1333 comments Hey, guys! I'm going to try and finish two books before the end of the month but I just accepted a new job (my dream job 😱) a couple days ago and I have 4 weeks to move to a completely different state lol. So I might have to slow down my reading

message 79: by Jacquelyn (new)

Jacquelyn Simon (jacquelynrose94) | 2166 comments Oh wow! Congrats Klancy!!
Which state?? What’s the job??

message 80: by Claire (new)

Claire Chibi | 1826 comments Congrats, that's awesome! I hope that the move goes smoothly for you :D

message 81: by Klancy (new)

Klancy Hoover-Davis | 1333 comments Thanks, guys! 🤗 It’s an editorial assistant position for a children’s book imprint! I’m really excited about it. I’m moving to Illinois!

message 82: by Jacquelyn (new)

Jacquelyn Simon (jacquelynrose94) | 2166 comments Nice!! At least you are moving one state over and not across the country. 💕💕💕

Are you moving to Chicago? That job sounds absolutely amazing!!!

message 83: by Jacquelyn (new)

Jacquelyn Simon (jacquelynrose94) | 2166 comments So I will hit my eight book minimum this month, it’s just been difficult balancing reading and work. I’m currently working a full-time job and a part-time job. Plus I’ve been working overtime at my full time job... so basically I’m exhausted. 🤣 I’ve been trying to listen to audiobooks when I can but I miss physically reading a book, so when I do, it’s been a slow and arduous process.

message 84: by Klancy (new)

Klancy Hoover-Davis | 1333 comments True! I’m moving to Naperville, which is only like 3 hours from where I live now. The only bad part about it is going to be the toll roads for sure and having to go through them multiple times to get all my stuff there.

And no worries! Honestly, we’ve done so well this month. Plus, personal life stuff always comes first!

message 85: by Klancy (new)

Klancy Hoover-Davis | 1333 comments Hey, everyone! Just jumping on to say I had a lot of fun on our team this month; we killed it 🤗 Whoever is participating in the February challenge, good luck!

message 86: by Claire (last edited Jan 30, 2020 05:37PM) (new)

Claire Chibi | 1826 comments Me too! I managed to read everything I wanted to plus will have time for one more short book :D

Great job everyone!

message 87: by Jacquelyn (new)

Jacquelyn Simon (jacquelynrose94) | 2166 comments I posted two book reviews, but I’m sorry, I almost completed two more books, but haven’t gotten the chance. 😔

message 88: by Jacquelyn (new)

Jacquelyn Simon (jacquelynrose94) | 2166 comments Jk, I should be able to post one more. 🤞🏻

message 89: by María (new)

María | 2037 comments I posted my final review. I only finished 8books this month...

message 90: by Jacquelyn (new)

I just posted my last review for the month as well. I only read nine books... and I barely made it in time to finish the ninth book.
