I finished The One in just two days and I agree on that it's the best book of the series yet. There was just so much happening and things just went completely crazy. I also adored the ending and I just think Maxon is the cutest. Really.

You are definitely not the only one who doesn't like Aspen. I didn't like him from the first scene in the tree house in The Selection.

Same, but then I kinda remembered how hard it would be for him, The Selection was quite predictable... In certain places.

I started The Heir yesterday, and I love it! Eadlyn reminds me so much of myself, especially with the whole not wanting to marry right away thing. She and I are just so alike.

It took me a while to adjust to the fact this book didn't revolve around Maxon and America, but other than that I loved it. The ending left me a little frustrated so I REALLY can't wait for the next book!

I finally gotmy copy of The Heir!!! I'm excited about finishing this series, so far I've really enjoyed it.

I'm about 150 pages through The Heir right now and I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would actually. I really appreciate what the author seems to be trying to do with Eadlyn's character. She is certainly original as far as YA protagonists go.

What's great is how I really don't know who Eadlyn might end up with, if anyone! I have a couple of favourites but honestly it's just so hard to call right now! Also the way that the Selection is now from the perspective of the Selector is really interesting to see. Looking forward to continuing!

I finished The Heir last night! As with The Selection and The Elite, I had my problems with it, but I enjoyed it for the most part. :)

Discussion questions:

1. Who are some of your favorite selected girls? (The Selection, The Elite, The One)

Kriss was an interesting one, and I loved how Celeste's story played out. Also Marlee, and of course, America.

2. Who are some of your favorite selected young men? (The Heir)

Henri, Fox, Hale (I really liked his 'new thing every day' storyline) and Ian (simply because of his funny answer in the gameshow thing they did). And I know he doesn't count, but Erik, for sure.

3. Do you like America or Eadlyn more?

Well, I didn't dislike America nearly as much as lots of people seem to, but I find Eadlyn a very interesting character to read about, so let's go with her.

4. What do you think of Maxon and Aspen?

I usually don't like love triangles but I liked the way the one between America, Maxon and Aspen was done. I like both of them, but I prefer Aspen as a character. I just found Maxon less interesting than him.

5. Who is your favorite character?

Tough question! Wow, I really don't know. Interested to see other people's answers to this one.

6. Do you plan on reading the final book in the series?

For sure! I must know what happened after that cliffhanger.

7. Have you read any of the novellas? Which ones, and how did you like them?

Nope, they don't interest me. I'm not really one for spin-off books or anything like that.

Hey, I just noticed something cool about the covers of this series. I don't know if it's intentional, but the colours of the dresses on the front kind of correspond with each book.

- This is presumably America, and I remember her saying something about her being the only one who ever wore blue dresses.

- The red dress could symbolise that the competition is get more serious.

- Well, this looks a lot like a wedding dress...

- I remember Eadlyn choosing to wear dark dresses a lot so that she could intimidate people.

Just thought this was interesting. ;)

OK, people. I'm posting major spoilers, so if you haven't read it yet, DON'T CLICK!

(view spoiler)[ I'm freaking out a little. There's still so many guys left and there's only going to be ONE MORE BOOK! America's selection required 3 books, so what happens to only warrant TWO books for Eadlyn? Would anyone care to speculate with me?

I've been thinking up a couple of ideas...

1) Kiera is going to kill off America. After I ugly cry and wipe the snot off my face, I will read on to see that now Eadlyn is determined to make her mother proud or blah, blah, blah...

2) America dies. I snot cry. Then MAXON dies of a broken heart and I lose my mind. After exiting the mental institution that my husband will most surely admit me to, I will read on to find the Eadlyn is Queen and has to hurry up and pick somebody because she's too busy to deal with the selection.

3). Eadlyn falls in love with someone (maybe Kile???) and calls the whole thing off because she's found her soul mate.

4) She stops the Selection because she's madly in love with Erik and since he's not in the selection she can quit with all the shenanigans. (hide spoiler)]

What do you think? Do you think the fact that there is only one more books is significant? Care to speculate with me???

Hmm. Interesting question. I don't think I'll be able to answer without revealing any spoilers so here's what I think:

(view spoiler)[ First of all, I'm pretty sure Kiera Cass will be able to wrap up Eadlyn's Selection in just one book, given Eadlyn's rash nature. The question of whether America and Maxon's Selection 'required' three books is probably not one we should be going into right now, but in my opinion it could have all been put into two (or possibly even one) books if the author had wanted it to.

As for America dying... I really don't know on this one. I can see your theory of her dying and Eadlyn wanting to make her proud coming through, but it's just a question of whether Kiera Cass has it in her to kill off a character she dedicated three books to. Maxon... I suppose he could die of a broken heart but then again he is king and he might see it as a duty to his kingdom, his kids and to America (the person not the country!) to carry on trying to make peace for his people.

To be honest I don't really see Eadlyn and Kile working out. They may go back a long way but right now (for Eadlyn at least) their relationship seems more built on kissing than talking. And anyway Kile wants to be an architect not a king, right? He'll probably just leave to pursue that and they'll depart as friends.

Erik is the one I ship and I think there's a good chance that he will be chosen (how that will work with him not being in the Selection I don't know), but there's an equal chance that they'll end up as friends too and she won't pick anyone. That's my theory anyway. (hide spoiler)]

Since the synopsis is super vague why don't we talk about the cover? Honestly, it's my least favourite of the series (up against tough competition!), because I don't much like the way the girl on the cover is looking directly at us. Having said that the colour scheme is to die for and that is pretty much what I imagine Eadlyn to look like. What are your thoughts? :)

I absolutely love the cover scheme!! I saw the cover last month I think, I'm really excited, I saw it after I read Happily Ever After, which I loved.
