HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Not a lot to see from the link anyways.. Something about completing tasks to earn badges but the actual tasks haven't even been posted. It's the first thing I've participated in for that group and only singed up because.. goats lol.

Thanks Jess!

Lol nice, goats are a good reason

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments It was painful, but another series completed tonight as I finished Tiger's Dream (The Tiger Saga, #5) by Colleen Houck which is book 5/5 of the Tiger's Saga. I hated almost every moment of these but I'm stubborn and also not good at telling people no when they ask me to buddy read hah.

message 110: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6454 comments Mod
Haha I never would've read that many books I hated! But good on you for finishing!

Brittany | 6454 comments Mod
I just looked at what you read this month, how did you like Assassin's Apprentice and Into the Deep?

message 112: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments I loved both! Assassin's Apprentice was recommended by an old friend and was my first by that author but super excited to read more of his. The narration was pretty good as well. He's brutal with his MC and the pacing was pretty consistent. Definitely continuing with the series soon.

Into the Deep was probably one of my fave reads of the month. Narration was really good and the mermaids were creepy as hell! I don't read much in the way of horror (not sure why since I love horror/slasher films) but this really makes me want to find more!

message 113: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6454 comments Mod
I have Assassin's Apprentice and one day will read it...

Loved the horror mermaids. That book and its prequel were just so different! If you find anything that feels like those let me know.

message 114: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Will do, please do the same if you come across any!

message 115: by Brittany (last edited Apr 01, 2020 01:02AM) (new)

Brittany | 6454 comments Mod
Absolutely! I've never read anything quite like it.

One of my fave horror books is Lightning by Dean Koontz its also so different and parts of it stay with you.

Also a different kind of YA horror book Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna, #1) by Kendare Blake

message 116: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments I tried Anna Dressed in Blood this past year and couldn't get into it. Total bummer since it had been on my tbr forever and I know a lot of people who liked it.

I've never read any Koontz! Might have to start with this one!

message 117: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6454 comments Mod
I find Koontz hit or miss. Loved Lightning. HATED Dragon tears, it put me in such a reading slump I think it took me 2 months to read it and I didn't touch another horror book for years after.

Too bad about Anna but it happens!

message 118: by Teodora (new)

Teodora | 359 comments I have never read Koontz but a friend of mine suggested I should get into The Eyes of Darkness given the circumstances 😂

That's supposed to be a good one.
And yes with its odd reference it could be interesting to read right now.

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Finished Imagine Me (Shatter Me, #6) by Tahereh Mafi - one more series wrapped up!

Liliana (lililostinabook) | 2893 comments Mod
Awesome! Hey, how did you enjoy that series? I read book one YEARS ago and absolutely loved it, but I just haven't read on in the series.

message 132: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments I adored the series as a whole. I definitely think the original trilogy had some sorta magic that feels a bit lacking in the later three, but they're still good!

message 133: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Just finished Ruthless Gods (Something Dark and Holy, #2) by Emily A. Duncan and I'm with Laura in saying its definitely one of my favorite reads so far this year!

Liliana (lililostinabook) | 2893 comments Mod
That's good to know! I'll probably get back to the series eventually!

Kenji gets a ton of POV chapters in the newer ones. I adore him, have since the beginning, so that was a huge plus for me!

message 136: by Liliana, YA Paranormal Lover (new)

Liliana (lililostinabook) | 2893 comments Mod
That is one character I really remember! I adored him too, so that's exciting to hear!

message 137: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Just finished This Mortal Coil (This Mortal Coil, #1) by Emily Suvada and was blown away by it! So many twists I didn't see coming and just non stop action.

message 138: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Ya'll.. I made a shelf specific to the unfinished series I have.. Added all the books I need to read, plus all that I will have to re-read in order to finish the series.. it's 241 books >.<

Ughhhh.....

message 139: by Liliana, YA Paranormal Lover (new)

Liliana (lililostinabook) | 2893 comments Mod
Girl! 😲 Yikes! And I thought the 70 on my unfinished shelf was a lot 😅 Lol.

message 140: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments I'm a little overwhelmed currently lol! I need to stop starting new series (but I won't of course lol)!

message 141: by Liliana, YA Paranormal Lover (new)

Liliana (lililostinabook) | 2893 comments Mod
Oh I bet. Lol. But I totally get you. I start at least one series every single month 😅 I can't help it. Lol.

So the 241 isn't 241 different series you need to finish, right? It's ALL the books in ALL the series you need to re-read/read to finish?

message 142: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments correct ALL the books total for ALL series. I didn't count individual series so not sure on that but there are some - like The Dresden Files - where I've only read one and it has like 15 in it.

And it's up to 243 as I remembered a couple of more...

message 143: by Liliana, YA Paranormal Lover (new)

Liliana (lililostinabook) | 2893 comments Mod
Ah, that makes sense. On my shelf I only have one book per series, so it's 70 separate series I need to finish. At one point I also had ALL the books I needed to finish, but I ended up editing the shelf because like you, I was super overwhelmed by the number. Lol. I mean, there's over 50 books just in the Fear Street series! It was too much for me. Lol.

message 144: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Gah! That's good thinking! I may need to edit my shelf haha!

I'm thinking I'd use it for a lot of the monthly PIFM/Pick Me a Winner type deals to keep motivated to knock it down. Might be easier if it's only the next book I need to read.

message 145: by Liliana, YA Paranormal Lover (new)

Liliana (lililostinabook) | 2893 comments Mod
Yeah, it might help! Especially for PIFM! That way you only have the next book you have to read and not the entire thing. Though the only downside to this is that I have to remember to add the next book in the series onto the shelf after I finish the one that had been on there... if that makes sense. Lol.

message 146: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Liliana wrote: "Yeah, it might help! Especially for PIFM! That way you only have the next book you have to read and not the entire thing. Though the only downside to this is that I have to remember to add the next..."

I was thinking about that! As long as I can remember that, it seems like a better method lol.

message 147: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Ok, I took your idea Lili and cut it down to only the next book of each series.. 69! such a better number hah!

message 148: by Liliana, YA Paranormal Lover (new)

Liliana (lililostinabook) | 2893 comments Mod
Nice! That is SO much better than 243! Lol. When I first saw that number I was like, "No way!" I actually thought you had 240 separate series you had to finish! 😂

message 149: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Lordie no - although at the rate I'm going.... hahah!

Sounds really neat, but not something I could read right now! Glad you enjoyed it so much
