I feel like I need to finish two books today to make up for the last 11 days of slacking on my part but also I haven't been enjoying my book as much so perhaps that's why :( ( Recursion by Crouch)

That's too bad you aren't into Recursion. I haven't read it yet but I have heard good things about it.

Crouch is one of my favorite authors so its funny how I'm one of the few people not enjoying this one as much, some pages turn into something that reads like a manual for putting a radio together, just reads very monotone/tone deaf as I'm reading a bunch of words, not seeing a picture unfold in my head. It was good up to half way mark but its picking up a little now, also its oddly too similar to Dark Matter for me, guess I prefer when he writes serial killers and Wayward Pine type stories more, but hoping to finish today!

Also don't let me put you off it, I think about 95% of people out there love this book haha.

Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng
Not my usual fare, but it is remarkably well written, relatable and funny and intriguing. Took a bit for the story to take shape, but once it did, it had me hooked.

My last 3 reads were about 3 starts and being stressed w/ the whole work situation going on I decided to treat myself and pick something that sounds as juicy and amazing as all the reviews promise so right now I'm reading Boy's Life, little bit in and really liking the mood and set up.

(fyi its free from Kindle Unlimited, I have a paper copy somewhere but can't find it.)

The Guardians by John Grisham
I've read all of Grisham's legal thrillers as well as a few of his other books. By the 2000s his stories remained interesting, due to his wonderful writing style, but they at times felt like he was meeting contractual obligations, or just didn't invest in them as much as he used to, as they remained entertaining, but became less exciting and sexy. Right from the start, this book felt like his prime books of the late 80s and 90s. The story feels invigorated with the oomph of his classics, and I'm gleefully pouring right through it.

Thanks for sharing, Alan. Perhaps I'll give this one a try. I liked Grisham early on in his career and then, like you it seems, his books started to seem formulaic.
