The writing is as good as the first two books, but my Cthulhu, there are so many unnecessary subplots and historical details. It feels like..."

We could also read the one after that as a group read, if its part horror.

Well, it's really more straight out thriller than anything else. And if you were thinking of March animals read, it's not actually about spiders (I've seen the movie). 😹

We could always do a Buddy Read down the line.

Atlanta (dark_leo) | 271 comments I wasn’t thinking about animals, 😬 ok I’ll stick to cows and ferocious as my nominations .

Still trying to get him to read more, but he enjoys when I share the story as I read along.

Hey, there is always that lucky someone out there that will be even luckier when they find you <3

Blue Labyrinth (Pendergast, #14) by Douglas Preston
Blue Labyrinth
(Pendergast #14)

This is my 4th Pendergast in a row, I usually don't read more than 6 in a series cause I go nutty lol, but so far it's been do nice to be back in that world and it's keeping me reading so, here's one more.

message 206: by Atlanta (new)

Atlanta (dark_leo) | 271 comments Kasi, that’s optimistic. A man who reads fiction and either crime, mystery, science fiction, thriller, suspense or horror is satisfactory to me. :)

I'm hopeful. I haven't read this author before.

Krystal (krystallee6363) | 878 comments I started reading Paranormal Homicide: The Skinners Incident as my emergency e-book (when my paperback book is out of reach) and so far it's pretty terrible. Still early days though and I'm really curious about where it will go!

Great book! All the Joe Dillard books are good."

I just finished it and I have to agree :) Looking to forward to the rest of the series.

I’m still working my way through the cabinet of curiosities by Douglas Preston.

It's okay, not sure that I am really into the story but that's just me.

Currently I’m reading “Sharp Objects”. Idk that it’s strictly horror but certainly harrowing and jarring.

Just saw you rated it three stars, so you liked it but it wasn't great. Hmm.

Greg | 1680 comments Currently reading Wonder. Although aimed at MG/YA readers, there are some cultural references that only middle-aged people are likely to get. So far, it's a nicely observed look at fitting in within the world of a middle school, accentuated by the protagonist's facial disfigurement. I haven't seen the movie yet but I think I'll check it out once I've completed the book.

Krystal (krystallee6363) | 878 comments Anyone else love to hate the truly terrible stuff??

Paranormal Homicide: The Skinners Incident made me laugh a lot. It's poorly written and includes a lot of grotesque descriptions and confusing supernatural happenings.
