New Twilight Zone
Funny I’m reading this, since I never cared for the 1980s “Twilight Zone” reboot at all. But they adapted some great stories (often badly), most of which are included here, along with Alan Brennert’s reminiscences of working on the series.

I liked this one. I had one or two small issues with the story but it didn't spoil what was a pretty good read.

Finally getting over a bit of a slow reading the past few weeks, finished one book and jumped on this bad boy, hope it delivers on the promise it gives :P
Camp Slaughter
by Sergio Gomez
It’s a local legend. No one is sure if this “Camp Slaughter” place is real or not. But a group of college kids renting out a cabin deep in the woods of Pennsylvania will soon realize the truth. They’ll realize the danger, too. Or rather, the cannibal out in the woods will bring the danger to them…

Yay! I think I liked Wilde West even better than the first. I hope you love it!

Also been dipping into The Mammoth Book of Vampire Stories by Women and The Big Book of Jack the Ripper.

So I am reading these three:

and

and just started reading this last night:

just started this one! i'm about 30 pages in and really impressed by how creepy this book feels so far.

Just ok so far. Seems very dated with too many references to people and things from the early '80s when it was written. Tends to pull me out of the story.
Lots of padding to the story too. I'm at the 200 page mark and it could have been condensed down to about 50 pages.

I was just thinking of picking this series back up again yesterday, I'm up to the 4th one, The Tale of the Body Thief.

Are there many of them?

Sure, the love story starts way too fast, and the horror elements come in way too suddenly, but the sensitivity with which he writes about his characters is quite remarkable. It's a book full of broken characters finding some peace among each other, and even the sex scenes felt more about intimacy than explicitness. People warned about the gore (surprisingly little in this one so far, unless it all ramps up in the last 100 pages), and the sex (they were right on this one), but this was a pleasant surprise. I'll be looking into more of his work in the future.

Wormwood collects early stories in chronological order and you can see the writer's growth story by story.

Holy crap... those first 65 pages!
I had to put the book down to catch my breath!
Awesome.
