This can be a book from any country, so long as the author is a member of the minority group they are writing about.

Some suggestions:

Born a Crime by Trevor Noah
The Night Diary by Veera Hiranandani
And the Violins Stopped Playing by Alexander Ramati

Stacy Paxton | 12 comments I just finished The Girl with the Louding Voice by Abi Daré. It was fantastic! The main character, Adunni, is amazingly strong and you can’t help but root for her the whole way through.

Lindsay | 26 comments I read Pachinko by Min Jin Lee. It’s about a Korean family in Japan from the 1930s to 1980s.
