I think Apple is being selfish. She could still have a happly ever after without someone poisining her.
I don't think raven is being selfish at all. She just wants to create her own story where she can be the person she wants to be.

Roseena Peralta I started this series because of my little sister, and it was pretty good. My little sister and I both feel that Apple is a little too much selfish. She just keep thinking of her own story, but you also have to see it from her side. It is all she know .

Celest In a way, yes she is, since she keeps pushing for Raven to be who she isn't just to make sure her story stays on track, but again she probably thought she was doing the right thing so Raven and the others didn't go 'poof' for not signing the book. It's more of a grey area than anything else.

Nichole Davis Yes, Apple is being selfish. But it's not in a way that isn't understandable. Who in real life isn't afraid of the unknown? Apple has been told by her mother and father that nothing really bad can happen to her once she signs the book. Yes she will be poisoned, but she knows by who. she knows how. she knows for how long. She was raised on the idea that there are people who are meant to be good and people who are meant to be evil. In her mind, neither her or Raven can really be happy unless they both follow their destinies.

Is she being selfish? yes. But not in a mean, spiteful way. She simply can't understand Raven's POV. But look to what lengths she goes through to help Raven get the answers she is looking for! She clearly cares about Raven, not just herself.

I think she's basically a "good" character who is going to have to continue her journey with Raven till either Raven decides she's evil or Apple realizes that good and evil is ultimately a choice.

Jule Warner Totally agree with you Nichole!

Nichole Davis You are welcome!

I am really enjoying these books because they go beyond the superficial tropes of the cartoon and really build the characters, giving them dimension and depth.

It's nice to be able to talk about them with people!

Nichole Davis :) yay !

Elora Apple is selfish!
I understand how Ravens feeling, nobody likes being evil! I wouldn't! Tell me if I'm right!

Yusra ❥ I don't think apple is at the least bit selfish it seems this fandom really has it in for her. Though everyone assumes we all hate Raven when liking her is the stereotype. I hoped the people who read the books would be different- apparently not. Apple thinks the only way is the way Milton has set up for them and isn't as brave as Raven to venture out and take chances. But she cares she went everywhere with Raven she risked her life for Raven something I doubt she would have done for her to find the truth about the book. As well as that she tried to save Rsven when everybody gave up on her in dragon games! They were going to let the evil queen win but not on Apple's watch!
Apple when she fell down the well she thought she would die she wants to be in the comfort of her own story rather than try something that might end differently she also feels insecure being a blonde and having glasses. And did u see her mum she was very pressured by her which also explains alot.
That concludes a few reasons I don't think she is selfish!😁

You have to understand her point of view. She lives in a world where everything about everyone’s lives is mapped out. They know nothing of choice, they haven’t experienced it for the most part. She doesn’t know anything else and choice seems scary to her. Why face the unknown when you can have a life you know will end happily? They were raised to believe that if they didn’t follow in their parents footsteps they would cease to exist, a fate worse than death. At least many people can look forward to some form of an afterlife with loved ones, not if you’re completely gone, no thought, absolutely nothing left. That’s a really scary thing and Grimm has the entire land of everafter fooled into believing it so that he has control over everything and everyone. Even once Raven debunks that theory by ripping out her page and refusing to sign, Apple is still in fear of it happening along with many others and she does everything she can to change the rebels minds. I can’t fault her for that one bit, I may relate to Raven but I admire Apple greatly. She’s far from selfish.
