message 11: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo | 4353 comments It was good.

message 12: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo | 4353 comments I keep forgetting to come here and add so just added two. Both Evanovich books done in audio.

message 13: by Ann (new)

Ann (annrumsey) | 16927 comments I need to go look at mine too DJ, hadn't thought much about it lately. Good for you with two audiobooks. Lighter books and especially series books are a good way to get started with audio books. Sue Grafton was where I started out with Kinsey Milhone. Good memories!

I can't get the next in the series for around 10 days so I didn't even put the hold on it yet. then I'm caught up with the series. I was thinking of trying something else. just haven't decided what yet. I have the jacqueline Woodson one on saved but I saw review someplace that said it wasn't a good one to do audio on. I listened to a sample on the publisher site of The Girl on the Louding voice and was thinking of that one but the narrater is hard to understand on the sample. I might see what else is available.

You’re making good progress, Donnajo! I wish I was 😉

message 17: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo | 4353 comments Then I have my own print books to read for above and bottom part Romeo and Juliet which is started and a book recommended which Might be a print one or something else but that one I’ll figure out. With the bookcase weed out I was doing I’m hoping I’ll figure out some top books. I think once the arcs get caught up not taking hardly any from netgalley and will be doing the romance ones from Tule publishing and my own print books. Plus one here and there audio at least for time being. Plus freebies on kindle to get those down.

Donnajo | 4353 comments I’ll be updating tomorrow can’t do it from iPad but finished print book

message 23: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo | 4353 comments Updated. I'm working on Romeo and Juliet for #19. And a few other print owned books for top section. For #17 I'm hoping to pick one of the books that a good friend from the shore who passed away a month or two ago recommended to me she was always asking what books I've been reading that she should check out and always telling me which books I should read that she loved.

message 24: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 1371 comments That would be a sweet way to pick a book. You're doing great!

message 25: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo | 4353 comments I think I know which one I think the title is Mokali. I read the another of the author’s books years ago Honolulu I think and enjoyed it I remembered she liked both. She was a retired school librarian and also worked in a regular one too. I tried to get her to join our group and goodreads but she never got chance.

message 26: by Ann (new)

Ann (annrumsey) | 16927 comments DJ echoing what Dawn said. A nice tribute to use your friend's suggestion.

OMalleycat | 1448 comments Donnajo, it seems like you’re really burning through some books lately. Way to go!

message 29: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo | 4353 comments Updated first chance I had to get on laptop to add print owned book I finished yesterday. I'm working on Molaka'i by Brennert (only in 1 chapter so far think book will take me longer) for the recommended book. Also a Barbara Delinsky book for print owned book. My goal is finish challenge in July if lucky. Then just want to work on doing more print owned books.

message 30: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo | 4353 comments updated. I'm glad I'm finally getting print owned books read it helps to cut back on arcs.

Donnajo | 4353 comments Donnajo wrote: "I think I might finish up poem book today so that will be another book finished."

Yes, helps to resist doing a few arcs that are coming though. I just updated again. The book of poems was one of the books I got for joining the library Summer Reading contest.
I'm currently reading the book for the recommend the the 10th book which really wasn't mine the neighbor gave it to us last weekend not sure if I want to count it since it didn't originally come off my shelf yet she doesn't usually want them back so it will end up on shelf if I don't read it. I think the recommended book will take me longer.

message 35: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo | 4353 comments Yeah I finished book #10 on top so that means I just have to finish the one for #17 which will take me longer. But I thinking maybe I might still continue posting another list on my thread here of print books off my bookcase that I finish. that way it motivates me to continue adding to a list her that everyone that comes on see plus it's a good way to keep track for myself besides the goodreads bookshelf I have. With molokai it's one of my own books but I might still add to other list.

message 37: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo | 4353 comments Thanks never thought I would be able to catch up with top section.. it helps to cut down on arcs and read less ebooks the shore time with reading more outside helps a lot inside reading print books are hard with lousy lighting.

Donnajo | 4353 comments Dawn wrote: "Congratulations!! Amazing feat!"

Thank you. Now if I can only get though the recommended book which is also a owned book. I might not get much read in the next few days I have arcs (one print and two ebooks, also one print book from friend which even though it could end up on shelf since she doesn't want them back on shelf it's not originally off shelf).

message 42: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo | 4353 comments Yeah Finished my last book Molokai'i just before 10pm tonight I was determined. I was happy to finally read the book. At some point some day I'll read the second book in the series but not right away. I can't believe I finished the challenge. I still want to work at reading my own print books. I know I said I would start a post to continue with owned print books so it will be a side challenge myself but I"m still deciding if I'll do it or not.

message 43: by Ann (new)

Ann (annrumsey) | 16927 comments Great news DJ! A great feeling to have finished, I am sure. With four months left in the year a small print challenge sounds doable!

message 44: by Barbara K (new)

Barbara K Well done, DJ!

message 45: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo | 4353 comments Thanks I’ll start a post with more top finished ones I’ve done already when I get home. I think if anything it will motivate me.

message 46: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 1371 comments Congratulations! Well done! I’m only partly there but love knocking some of these older books off my list. You must feel like you’ve cleaned up your list quite a bit!

message 47: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo | 4353 comments It’s helps being at shore where outside more so print books can get read. At home my it’s harder with certain prints. Plus lately the freebie ebooks I might read late at night I haven’t gotten into easier. I need to weed out some of those freebie kindle ones and get them off kindles. And if a book isn’t romance it takes me longer to get though. Thanks it feels good to finish the challenge.
