The man travels to a far away country looking for something maybe it’s his family history? He finds an old man in a tea shop, I can’t remember what happens after this. Then the story goes to a boy who is blind or going blind. He runs down a hill every day and goes to a monastery. He has some kind of special senses, can hear every little sound. He meets a girl outside and falls in love with her... there are a lot of blanks here... it was a very moving book
