our hero travels to meet his mistress, because he wants to break up with her. In the meantime the weather gets worse and he can't find the right village. So he finds shelter in our heroine's house.
She thinks the H is someone she has asked for, a tutor maybe (I'm not sure) She has a few siblings to take care for.
The H likes her and her family, but he thinks he can't say anything, because he has a bad reputation.
I think he has a illegitimate daughter, who lives with him, and the h is a painter.
