YA submarines with anti-pressure fields, read ~1998

At least 3 books; I remember the first one had a bid on 2 submarines, the Dolphin and the Killer Whale. Submarines worked/augmented by an electric anti-pressure field.

More adventure than Thriller, from what my memory can provide.

And, from what I can read about the Omega Sub series, not that. I have no memory of surface nuclear warfare being part of the backstory.
