ABANDONED. looking for the name of this book

i'm looking for a book i read long time ago it was about : name of the book where an agent is sent to extract a prisoner but ends up facing his old commander who is his biggest enemy an has tuned villain of some sort .. in the final plot i remember there were helicopters and a big offce of some sort was involved.
