Christopher Chambers (chambec) | 23 comments I have a copy of Kim the dust-wrapper of which clearly bears the ISBN '333 05239 0' (as printed, leading zero suppressed).

It is Macmillan & Co Ltd in the Young People's Edition. However the edition page inside state 'Centenary Edition 1966' with 1966 prominent on title page.

I cannot be certain that DW and hardback belong together but they fit well and Internet researches show other 1966/Young People's with the same DW. My book is 413 pages as are other listings.

Goodreads does not have this edition but the ISBN is already claimed, cover unknown, 420 pages. I am reluctant to overwrite this with my edition: it seems possible to me that many distinct copies might bear the same ISBN in what were early days for the system.

Should I ignore the ISBN and create a new edition and merely note that the DW bears 0333052390 or amend the existing version?

Philip (burnnerman) | 5912 comments Yes, you should create a new edition without ISBN and mention that it is an ACE of that ISBN.

You should not edit the other edition.

Publication year of the two is quite different. So if you want an edition with your data, yeah, a new edition is in order.

ACE = 'another certified edition'?
