Laura Finished Sparking the Fire (Hot in Chicago, #3) by Kate Meader to finish up a series I really enjoyed. This was the weakest book though.
Now reading Seized (The Profiler #3) by Elizabeth Heiter

Anita (anitanodiva) | 4069 comments I'm currently reading Under the Wire (The Bodyguards, #5) by Cindy Gerard and I really love Cindy Gerard and am so happy that the group has finally caught up to where I am in this fantastic series.

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 1631 comments I finished The Black Prism (Lightbringer, #1) by Brent Weeks , which was a 600+ page book, and now I've started The One Man by Andrew Gross on audio (not exactly a holiday read, lol) and Full Dark House A Peculiar Crimes Unit Mystery by Christopher Fowler in regular book format.

I finished Christmas with the Sheriff by Victoria James, Shadow Creek, Montana #1, and liked this sweet but emotionally tough holiday story. Here's my review.

I'm now reading Stranded by Alex Kava, the final book in the Maggie O'Dell series.

I look forward to hearing what you think of Death by Didgeridoo. I have downloaded it from Kindle unlimited. I might read it over the holidays as it looks like a nice holiday read!

Erin (erin36) | 484 comments I've recently listened to a few audiobooks --

Winterblaze (Darkest London, #3) by Kristen Callihan (book 3 in Darkest London series). I enjoyed the story and loved the narrator.

The Wanderer (Thunder Point, #1) by Robyn Carr . (book 1 in Thunder Point) I quite liked it.

The Visitor (Graveyard Queen, #4) by Amanda Stevens . (book 4 in the Graveyard Queen series) I enjoyed it but not as much as I expected to. Maybe I should have done some re-reading to refresh my memory before diving in again.

I currently listening to Clean Sweep (Innkeeper Chronicles, #1) by Ilona Andrews (book 1 in the Innkeeper series). I love Ilona Andrews and so far this book has not disappointed.

I've read the first two books in Kelley Armstrong's Age of Legends series and I'm almost through the final book in the trilogy. It's no surprise to me that I'm loving it as I seem to be a bit of an Armstrong fan girl :).

Sea of Shadows (Age of Legends, #1) by Kelley Armstrong Empire of Night (Age of Legends, #2) by Kelley Armstrong Forest of Ruin (Age of Legends, #3) by Kelley Armstrong

Sorry for the lengthy update! I'll try to update in smaller chunks from now on :).

No issues with lengthy updates!

When I got to The Sinner, I had to look over the character descriptions again to refresh my memory, too. I'm going to send you an invite to the group we set up to house some of the old Shelfari character descriptions by series.

Great, thanks!

Did you enjoy The Sinner, Jonetta? I want to read it but feel a little indifferent after The Visitor. I can't even pinpoint why I was so underwhelmed by The Visitor. And then when I read the description for The Sinner I noticed a big shift in main characters. That put me off further :).

I wasn't underwhelmed but I wasn't overwhelmed either. I didn't like the direction it headed and am admittedly dragging my feet in starting the next book (even though it's on this month's plan).

Ah, ok. Now it all makes sense. So we were both not wowed by The Visitor. If you've read the description for The Sinner there seems to be one very significant change to the cast of characters. I think that's what is holding me back from starting. It has good ratings though. I'll be interested to hear what you think if you get to it before I do.

You ladies are killing me! I've read the first three books but I'm waiting until book 6 is published to read these next three in one go. I'm trying really hard to resist peeking under that spoiler, lol. Your comments make me wary though of reading more. The series is ending at book six so hopefully it ties things up in a satisfactory way.

I second, Mary Beth on it being a great series. Erica reminds me a little bit of Kate Burkholder (Linda Castillo).

Robin (robinmy) | 3508 comments My last audiobook of the year is Loving Evangeline (Patterson - Cannon Family, #2) by Linda Howard Loving Evangeline by Linda Howard. I usually like this author's books, but I couldn't stand the hero in this one.

My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

This week I also read The Narrows (Harry Bosch, #10; Harry Bosch Universe, #12) by Michael Connelly The Narrows by Michael Connelly. Another excellent addition to his Harry Bosch series.

Yesterday I finished Dead By Midnight An I-Team Christmas (I-Team #7.5) by Pamela Clare Dead By Midnight: An I-Team Christmas by Pamela Clare. It's the last book in the I-Team series. This author certainly knows how to finish a series!

Laura I finished When Snow Falls (Whiskey Creek, #2) by Brenda Novak , book 2 in Whiskey Creek series. I picked it because it was a holiday read, and I really enjoyed it. If the next book wasn't called When Summer Comes I'd dive right in. Can't do a summer book at Christmas time.

message 4943: by Anita (new)

Anita (anitanodiva) | 4069 comments Goodreads lists the city and state a book takes place in. I often wish that they would list the time of year too. Reading summertime books in the dead of winter is just wrong (same for reading wintertime books in summer). A lot of time you don't know until you are deep into the book.

I've got one right now that is set in December, but I wouldn't call is a "Christmas Book". It is #2 in the series, but reads like a standalone. It is an ARC and will publish tomorrow. I'm at 60% and it's a 4-star so far. Second chance romance and a great mystery plot.

Laura I'm reading 2 books right now, which I usually don't do. Silent Scream (Romantic Suspense, #11; Minneapolis, #2) by Karen Rose which is boring me, and Holiday in Death (In Death, #7) by J.D. Robb which I am loving and definitely my favorite of the series so far.
