Quynh (quynh_o) | 245 comments I'm reading the first book in the Maiden Lane series Wicked Intentions (Maiden Lane, #1) by Elizabeth Hoyt . I like the writing so far, there's an air of mystery to the main characters that still developing (Caire and his inability to withstand touch and Temperance's secret?), so not sure what to make of them yet.

Its' nice because there's a jump in time so the technology is advancing. It's was weird reading about pagers and pay phones.... it's hard to remember back to what that was like. Strange how we managed to get around. LOL

I'm looking forward to getting to cell phones in this series. While I remember life without these devices, it requires a mind reset every time I read a mystery story from that era.

Quynh, I'm loving the Maiden Lane series. The first book has mixed reviews so give this the old two-book rule:)

Yes.. it's pretty funny. I love the In Death series because it's set in the future.... there's no "outdating" the series which was really smart and super cool.

I think I'm the same place as you. I've read the first two books. I'll probably get to the third book in April. (I have too many books planned for March already.) If you don't want to wait, go ahead and read it. You can let me know if it is as good as the previous books.

message 3264: by Mary Beth (new)

Mary Beth | 974 comments Robin I have a lot of books already planned for March also. I guess that is what happens when you are a series reader. I already have 4 buddy reads for March. I didnt realize that until after I asked you, I tallied them up. Every time I find someone that is reading the same series to read I ask them to buddy read it. 5 buddy reads might of been a little too much for one month deciding when to plan them all lol!

Dawn Omg! I just went through my Fictfact and I am caught up on all of my series but one and the next book coming up isn't out for a month. What to do?!? Jonetta, you are obviously falling down on the recommendation job lol

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 12970 comments Mod
You've got to be kidding, Dawn! Yes, I'm definitely falling down on the job.

I do have one I highly recommend and the audio versions are outstanding. You need to check out the Tony Hill/Carol Jordan series by Val McDermid. Not for the faint of heart but these stories are GOOD!!! The first book is The Mermaids Singing.

Have you tried Harry Bosch, one of our group series reads? I'm crazy about Harry and I love the audios.

Okay, I've had a chance to check out your shelf. Here are some must reads for you:

Romantic Suspense Series by Karen Rose

Last Chance Rescue Series by Christy Reece

Immortals After Dark Series by Kresley Cole, narrated by the fabulous Robert Petkoff. The first novella is a little weak but the rest of the series is wonderful.

These are just a few but my favorites.

message 3284: by Dawn (new)

Dawn I am so bad at keeping up my shelf. I really haven't added Immortals After Dark? Lol, that is the one I mentioned I am not caught up on. I have almost completed my bundle and I think there are for or five more books. I will check out the others and maybe spend some time catching up in here. I was so far behind on my Fictfact page it still showed I needed to read Wonderment in Death lol.
