Robin (robinmy) | 3516 comments A lunch today I started reading Icing on the Lake by Catherine Clark by Catherine Clark. Really couldn't get into it, so I've set it aside. Now I'm starting A Perfect Evil (Maggie O'Dell, #1) by Alex Kava by Alex Kava.

Quynh (quynh_o) | 245 comments I am now caught up with Toni Anderson's Cold Justice series. Really great books, writing is consistent from book to book, and the main characters are written well and relatable and likable. Looking forward to the 6th one.

This is good to know. I have this series on my 2016 plan. And after reading Grant County and Will Trent by Karin Slaughter (which are great stories), I'm looking forward to likable characters, lol.

message 2955: by Quynh (new)

Quynh (quynh_o) | 245 comments Lol Monica. Hope you like it once you get to the series. I still gotta read more Karin Slaughter, her books are just heavy content wise, for me to binge read it. Only in small doses for now.

message 2956: by Laura (new)

Laura I am finishing up book 3 of The Lost Series by Cynthia Eden. Shattered (LOST, #3) by Cynthia Eden . Each book is great. Can't recommend the series enough.

message 2957: by Quynh (new)

Quynh (quynh_o) | 245 comments Looks interesting. I'll be adding this one too. And the list goes on... Lol.

Loved it. Now I'm getting back my RS mojo with the classic, Heartbreaker (Buchanan-Renard, #1) by Julie Garwood

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 656 comments After the long holiday hiatus, and a beta read, I managed today to read one of our group reads, Don't Let Go (SEAL Team 12, #5) by Marliss Melton .

I really, really liked this book; it's one of the best RS books, imho!

Kris (My Novelesque Life) (mynovelesquelife) | 2447 comments I listened to Three Truths and a Lie - a novella by Lisa Gardner in the D.D. Warren series and really enjoyed it! It is quick and has you hanging on till the end. And as a teaser there are a few real life authors making appearances as Warren is doing a course on police work for mystery writers.

I understand! While the novella does not give away big spoilers or set up the next book, I would still read it in order so you can get the character.

I think The Gamble is the weakest one in the original trilogy, Sweet Dreams and Lady Luck are the best.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 656 comments I took a break from hard-hitting books to read the second in a Cozy mystery series, Death By Trombone by Rebecca Douglass . I really liked the first in the series, too, Death By Ice Cream (Pismawallops PTA #1) by Rebecca Douglass .

message 2984: by Monica (new)

Monica | 860 comments I finished Undone (Book 3 Will Trent) by Karin Slaughter and really enjoyed it.

I finished reading Anything for You (Book 5 Blue Heron) by Kristan Higgins and loved it. I've been dying for Connor's book and it did not disappoint. And Jonetta, you're right, it does set up as the last book. But I really hope it's not! Ned and Abby need books.

I also finished A Perfect Evil (Book 1 Maggie O'Dell) by Alex Kava and enjoyed it. Looking forward to the discussion.

Sunny (wkonsunshine) | 426 comments I'm reading Sophia (Vampires in America, #4) by D.B. Reynolds . I miss this series. It is so lush and the drama is so compelling. The topic is right up my former professional alley and the relationships are so enticing. Whew! Getting a little sweaty thinking about it.

message 2989: by Charlene (new)

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 656 comments I began What Angels Fear (Sebastian St. Cyr #1) by C.S. Harris . I don't know whether I finished it first time through, but so far this reread is gaining my attention!

Tracey (trakka) | 1363 comments I finished Notorious Pleasures (book 2 in the Maiden Lane series) by Elizabeth Hoyt and thoroughly enjoyed it. I agree with others with regards to the audio version, very good.

I also finished What Angels Fear (book 1 in the Sebastian St. Cyr series) by C S Harris. It took me a little bit to get in to it but once I did I enjoyed it. Looking forward to discussing it.

Now determined to finish A Game of Thrones! I'm enjoying it but it requires a lot of concentration.

On audio I have started listening to The Vows of Silence (book 4 in the Simon Serrailer series) by Susan Hill.

Notorious Pleasures (Maiden Lane, #2) by Elizabeth Hoyt What Angels Fear (Sebastian St. Cyr, #1) by C.S. Harris A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1) by George R.R. Martin The Vows of Silence (Simon Serailler, #4) by Susan Hill

Monica | 860 comments I finished listening to Broken (Book 4 Will Trent) by Karin Slaughter. And ho boy, Lena just doesn't give us a break. And I've realized that I have never disliked/loved a character so much, lol. I go from understanding her to washing my hands of her so fast and often, I think I have reader whiplash.
