It's a Harlequin - length RS. I've read and liked her previous books very much.

Charlene, I am just now seeing this. I was also busy over the holidays. I just started the book this morning. I can put it off until you are ready though, I have plenty to read, trust me.

I think I read somewhere that she is done with this series after the novella, too, Laura. I've loved this series, but was disappointed with Echoes of Scotland Street (On Dublin Street, #5) by Samantha Young , not with Cole, but with Shannon (the heroine). I'm looking forward to book 6.

Monica | 860 comments I'm not sure what I last reported, I've been so busy with the holidays and my brain is fried from all of our home projects we have going.

I just finished Beyond Reach (Book 6 Grant County) by Karin Slaughter. I am left speechless. Truly speechless. I sure hope we have some Grant County characters show up with Will Trent or I will be thoroughly peeved. I need updates!

I am listening to Sweetest Scoundrel (Book 9 Maiden Lane) by Elizabeth Hoyt and enjoying the narration. For some reason I had a hard time getting into the book when I was trying the ebook, but I am loving it right now. Phew!

I started Fractured (Book 2 Will Trent) by Karin Slaughter and it's already got me pretty hooked.

I read the first book in Maiden Lane and have listened to the rest. I think it makes a huge (positive) difference.

This is the first one I have listened to, and I really enjoyed it. I never had a hard time getting into any of the others (some of them are 5 star reads for me). But I think I was too focused on the holidays and listening to the Kate Burkholder and Grant County series. I'll definitely listen to the next ones though in the Maiden Lane series.

Laura wrote: "Interesting. I may have to try it out..."

I've discovered I prefer listening to mystery/suspense books, especially when there's a top notch narrator. The appeal of audiobooks is in the stratosphere right now and the competition for narrators is fierce! That means they just get better and better (with the occasional rotten egg).

If you plan to start the Slaughter series, I highly recommend the audio format as they've all been excellent. Same for the Kate Burkholder series by Linda Castillo.

I download most from the library.

Lena doesn't exactly bother me, I just worry about her to the point of exhaustion. I'm worried about her now, thinking of what I'll find when I get to her in the Will Trent series, lol. I remember Angie from the first Will Trent book and I don't like her either (after just one book). So I completely understand you both on that end.

It's Davina Porter narrating if that helps. So it's well done. My only complaint is that her Irish accent, while very very good, for a female character comes off a little masculine. Other than that, I have zero complaints. I'm really enjoying it.

Kris (My Novelesque Life) (mynovelesquelife) | 2447 comments Davina Porter? Oh my I may have to get the audio now too.

Wait till you get a larger dose of Angie. I usually don't react negatively to a character in a book, but I can't stand her.
