I'm glad you liked it, Pam! I love this character. You feel so bad for him but at the same time he's not whiny or maudlin. You just feel like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders.

If you're going to continue, don't read the blurbs past book #3!! You've been warned!! (hahaha!)

I finished listening to Total Surrender by Rebecca Zanetti and it was the best of the series. Seems as she's left the door open for a spinoff.

I'm now listening to Manwhore by Katy Evans.

Yeah I think she had her first book free and second book for $1.99. Good question about audio...I have not seen anything so far.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 656 comments I just finished the first book in Shana Galen's new series, Earls Just Want to Have Fun (Covent Garden Cubs, #1) by Shana Galen .
I had borrowed this from our local public library. Then I discovered that I had downloaded the prequel novella, Viscount of Vice (Covent Garden Cubs, #0.5) by Shana Galen , so I'll be reading it next. I do wish I'd had my head on my shoulders, or my Kindle list somewhere [obviously not in my brain :( ] so that I could have read in the correct order.

I usually give way more 4-star ratings than 3- or 5-stars, but this one was just three stars for me. I wrote a review but I still can't get it from the one place to another on this site....

Monica | 860 comments I finished Moonlight On My Mind by Jennifer McQuiston, the third book in the Second Sons series. This was probably my favorite of the series, I really, really enjoyed it. The heroine is first introduced in book 2 and I did not like her at all, I was very hesitant to read her story. But McQuiston is very good at the redemptive character. I loved Julianne and she is probably one of my favorite heroines in HR. Patrick Channing was somewhat of an enigma throughout this series, very quiet and mysterious. So it was fun to find out all about him.

Erin (erin36) | 484 comments I finished Lady Sophia's Lover by Lisa Kleypas and really enjoyed it. I was shocked by the big reveal with regards to Nick Gentry's character. I did not see that coming! This was the second book in the Bow Street Runners series and I'm looking forward to the final book!

I'm now listening to Key of Light by Nora Roberts, first in her Key trilogy.

Kris (My Novelesque Life) (mynovelesquelife) | 2447 comments I finished listening to The Dead Play On (Book 3) by Heather Graham and did not like this book as much as the previous two in the series. I am now caught up on this series. I also finished Hotwire (Book 9) by Alex Kava which I liked better than the last one but wasn't as great at the first several in the series. This morning I finishedScream For Me: A Novel of the Night Hunter (Book 3) by Cynthia Eden and enjoyed this romantic suspense. This finishes another series for me.

I finished listening to Manwhore by Katy Evans, first book in the series of the same name. I had no idea when I got the book from NetGalley and the audio from the publisher that it was part of the series. It was just okay for me and I'm annoyed that it ends in a cliffhanger.

I'm now listening to Dead Run by P.J. Tracy. Two hours in and I'm happy:)

Monica | 860 comments Jonetta wrote: "You've really gotten me excited to read this series...."

The third book definitely has mixed reviews. I emailed the author and told her how much I loved the third book (and series) and the heroine (whom I did not like in a previous book) and she replied that this book and heroine haven't gotten much love. But I personally love a character that grows into themselves and can change my opinion of them. Also, I think most readers are harder on the female character than anything else.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this series as much as me!

It's my least favorite to date. Though there aren't any spoilers, if you're not current, most of it will probably ring unfamiliar.

The main issue was Ward's experiences during the past year seem to have bled into this story. While she wrote it beautifully, it didn't serve the series or the characters well. Everything was just off and I've always praised her ability to nail her characters while keeping her readers off balance. The reverse was true.

The good news, though, is the main characters for the spinoff series were introduced and I'm really excited about that.

Kris (My Novelesque Life) (mynovelesquelife) | 2447 comments I just completed another great intense book Running Blind (Book 4) Lee Child! It had been awhile since I read his last novel and I loved how Child gave you an overview without too many spoilers. He is such an interesting character. I could not get into anything else last night after two action packed books so don't know what my next read will be...on my lunch break I am sure I will find something :)

I'm having issues finding an audio to listen - I've started 4 or 5 and nothing seem to stick, so maybe I should listen to some Jack Reacher. Those books always seem to get me out of the funk. I'm up to #12 in the series.

I like books with main characters that are super kickass, LOL! The rest of the books are pretty similar - Reacher goes to a new place, he gets involved in something dangerous by chance, he meets a conveniently hot woman to hook up with, he kicks the ass of the villains so hard that their front is backwards and then he leaves town.

I still enjoy them, though! I think I listened the last two back to back.
