What series are you reading?

"I'm glad you liked it, Pam! I love this character. You feel so bad for him but at the same time he's not whiny or maudlin. You just feel like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders.
If you're going to continue, don't read the blurbs past book #3!! You've been warned!! (hahaha!)

I finished listening to Total Surrender by Rebecca Zanetti and it was the best of the series. Seems as she's left the door open for a spinoff.
I'm now listening to Manwhore by Katy Evans.

I just finished the first book in Shana Galen's new series,
. I had borrowed this from our local public library. Then I discovered that I had downloaded the prequel novella,
, so I'll be reading it next. I do wish I'd had my head on my shoulders, or my Kindle list somewhere [obviously not in my brain :( ] so that I could have read in the correct order.I usually give way more 4-star ratings than 3- or 5-stars, but this one was just three stars for me. I wrote a review but I still can't get it from the one place to another on this site....
I finished Moonlight On My Mind by Jennifer McQuiston, the third book in the Second Sons series. This was probably my favorite of the series, I really, really enjoyed it. The heroine is first introduced in book 2 and I did not like her at all, I was very hesitant to read her story. But McQuiston is very good at the redemptive character. I loved Julianne and she is probably one of my favorite heroines in HR. Patrick Channing was somewhat of an enigma throughout this series, very quiet and mysterious. So it was fun to find out all about him.
I am now reading The Year We Fell Down by Sarina Bowen, which is the first book in her Ivy Years series.
I finished Lady Sophia's Lover by Lisa Kleypas and really enjoyed it. I was shocked by the big reveal with regards to Nick Gentry's character. I did not see that coming! This was the second book in the Bow Street Runners series and I'm looking forward to the final book!I'm now listening to Key of Light by Nora Roberts, first in her Key trilogy.
Here's my review of Total Surrender by Rebecca Zanetti, Sin Brothers #4. (Jennifer and I did a dual review.)
I finished listening to The Dead Play On (Book 3) by Heather Graham and did not like this book as much as the previous two in the series. I am now caught up on this series. I also finished Hotwire (Book 9) by Alex Kava which I liked better than the last one but wasn't as great at the first several in the series. This morning I finishedScream For Me: A Novel of the Night Hunter (Book 3) by Cynthia Eden and enjoyed this romantic suspense. This finishes another series for me.
I finished listening to Manwhore by Katy Evans, first book in the series of the same name. I had no idea when I got the book from NetGalley and the audio from the publisher that it was part of the series. It was just okay for me and I'm annoyed that it ends in a cliffhanger.
I'm now listening to Dead Run by P.J. Tracy. Two hours in and I'm happy:)

You've really gotten me excited to read this series.

Jonetta wrote: "Erin wrote: "I finished Lady Sophia's Lover by Lisa Kleypas and really enjoyed it. I was shocked by the big reveal with regards to Nick Gentry's character. I finished
Visions in Death by J.D. Robb. Another excellent addition to the "In Death" series. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Jonetta wrote: "You've really gotten me excited to read this series...."The third book definitely has mixed reviews. I emailed the author and told her how much I loved the third book (and series) and the heroine (whom I did not like in a previous book) and she replied that this book and heroine haven't gotten much love. But I personally love a character that grows into themselves and can change my opinion of them. Also, I think most readers are harder on the female character than anything else.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this series as much as me!
I finished The Year We Fell Down by Sarina Bowen and really liked it. This is a series I will definitely continue.

Well, I had to live with this for a few days after reading The Shadows by J.R. Ward, Black Dagger Brotherhood #13, so here's my review.
I've been like that with a few books too, Jonetta. One I did not have a problem with giving 5 stars right after I finished listening to JD Robb's
! LOVED it!

Understand completely! That's one of her best.

It's my least favorite to date. Though there aren't any spoilers, if you're not current, most of it will probably ring unfamiliar.
The main issue was Ward's experiences during the past year seem to have bled into this story. While she wrote it beautifully, it didn't serve the series or the characters well. Everything was just off and I've always praised her ability to nail her characters while keeping her readers off balance. The reverse was true.
The good news, though, is the main characters for the spinoff series were introduced and I'm really excited about that.

I just completed another great intense book Running Blind (Book 4) Lee Child! It had been awhile since I read his last novel and I loved how Child gave you an overview without too many spoilers. He is such an interesting character. I could not get into anything else last night after two action packed books so don't know what my next read will be...on my lunch break I am sure I will find something :)

Those books always seem to get me out of the funk. I'm up to #12 in the series.

Kris wrote: "That's great to know D.G. that you still like them...the 20th book is coming out in the fall! "I like books with main characters that are super kickass, LOL! The rest of the books are pretty similar - Reacher goes to a new place, he gets involved in something dangerous by chance, he meets a conveniently hot woman to hook up with, he kicks the ass of the villains so hard that their front is backwards and then he leaves town.
I still enjoy them, though! I think I listened the last two back to back.

And there is nothing wrong with that! Lol. I might do one book a month till I catch up in the series. It's a fast fun read!

That's too bad. Is she ending BDB then and doing a spinoff instead?
No, she's continuing but the new series will allow her to focus on the PNR of the BDB world. You'll see younger characters at the forefront with legacy BDB brothers reemerging for more story about them.

Finished Lover Revealed by J.R. Ward, 5 ★. Another great addition to the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. This one centers around Butch, the only human in the brotherhood. A little annoying in some spots, but still a great read. I am also looking forward to continuing this series.
I am now reading a standalone, Six Years by Harlan Coben and will start Dead Beat by Jim Butcher (The Dresden Files #7) after.

Love Butch!
Love Butch!
Going to start this tonight (#6 in the series). Her books are on sale right now for anyone else who reads this series. I'm not sure which or if they all are, but this one was so I picked it up.
I so like Charlie, she is a great heroine and so much fun.
I am reading The Year We Hid Away by Sarina Bowen and I am really liking it. It starts off with some very disturbing revelations, which I'm glad I didn't have to spend half the book speculating over due to vague internal dialogue from the MC about what was wrong in their life. And Bridger. Love him.
I finished reading Don't Stay Up Late (Book 2) R.L. Stine. This is a relaunch of a series I used to read as a teen (horror suspense). I don't know if I am too old but I found this one was trying to hard.
I finished A Rake's Midnight Kiss by Anna Campbell, Sons of Sin #2, and enjoyed it, despite a slow, slow beginning. Here's my review.
I'm now reading What a Duke Dares, the next book in the series.

I just finished Jillian Hunter's book in the Fenwick Sisters Affairs series,
.I really liked her Boscastle series, but this one did not ring true with the interaction between the governess, the Duke, and his other visitors.

Me too, Erin! and also L.J. Smith! I'm going to try the first one he put out
and maybe an original fear street to see if it's me or this book, lol.
