Spindle Cove is such a great series. It looks like Dare is done with it though and she's now writing the Castles Ever After series. I really enjoyed the first book - Romancing the Duke (Castles Ever After, #1) by Tessa Dare

I was sorry to see that series finish too. At least I have a couple short stories left to read.

Loved it! It made me mad, sad and happy all at the same time. What a change he made! You were right though, my heart broke towards the end. You know why...

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 81 comments Currently, I'm reading book 2 of the Gretchen Lowell series Sweetheart (Gretchen Lowell, #2) by Chelsea Cain I'm a fan of dark, emotional reads but I'll have to say book 1, Heartsick (Gretchen Lowell, #1) by Chelsea Cain , may have been the most mindblowing ever. Even I had to take a break before venturing into book 2. Next, I'm knocking off the last book in the Arcadia Bell series - Banishing the Dark (Arcadia Bell, #4) by Jenn Bennett . That series will then be on my Completed Series list! Makes me happy but also sad as I love the series & wish there were more books.

I have the series (Chelsea Cain's) and am just leery of starting. Really looking forward to your continued feedback.

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 81 comments It's "fascinating"...like watching a train wreck about to happen but nothing you can do to stop it. And the big switch is the psycho is the woman, not man. Loved book 1 but in a weird sort of way.

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 12958 comments Mod
Ok, now you're pulling me in...

message 75: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 81 comments And I meant to say that it's known up front that it's a woman - that's not a spoiler. She's in prison. But other than reading the synopsis...I can't say more without spoilers. It's just like I said - you're standing by the tracks watching a train coming and you know it's going to hit the car sitting on the tracks but you're helpless to stop it. Very different & great writing. I'll let you know where I'm at with it after I finish book 2.

Make sure to read Father Mine. Z's story continues in this one. Keep the tissues near by for this.

I borrowed book 1 and 2 books from the library in January but after reading the first, I had to take a break. As you said, it was really dark. I'll definitely continue on either sometime this month or next year.

You should try the Claire Morgan series by Linda Ladd. It's really dark imo.

Dawn I agree Sandra, his continued problems surprised me...but Father Mine is a must read, and yes tissues are required. Poor Jonetta...she gets all the blame.

Thanks for the recommendation, Jorran. I'll check it out. I am such a fan of dark, really heart-breaking emotional reads...as long as I connect to the characters.

Jennifer (thebooknympho) Listening to City of Eternal Night (Crescent City, #2) by Kristen Painter it's the 2nd in the series.

I'm reading Owning Violet (The Fowler Sisters, #1) by Monica Murphy and it's the 1st in the series.

Kris (My Novelesque Life) (mynovelesquelife) | 2447 comments I am in the minority but I did not care for Archie and Gretchen novels. I read first two and just could not care for Gretchen and Archie as characters but enjoyed her writing. I am thinking of trying her new series Kick Lannigan.

Kris (My Novelesque Life) (mynovelesquelife) | 2447 comments I am starting a new series (well new to me) - Jane Casey's The Burning (Maeve Kerrigan, #1) by Jane Casey . It is a British suspense thriller.

Janeiowa For my reading tastes, Jessica Scott and JoAnn Ross are among the very best in contemporary romance. I've just bought and downloaded their Holiday Duet...each contributed a new novella about coming home for Christmas.
Home for Christmas by JoAnn Ross Home for Christmas

Which includes both of the novellas below.

Ms Ross's is in her Shelter Bay series,
You Again: A Shelter Bay novella You Again A Shelter Bay novella by JoAnn Ross

and Ms Scott's in her military Coming Home series. All I Want for Christmas is You All I Want for Christmas is You (Coming Home #5.5) by Jessica Scott

I bought that book, too, because I'm already up to date on Scott's series and added Ross' series to my shelf months ago because of your reviews:)

80% done reading Hard Knocks (Charlie Fox Thriller #3) by Zoë Sharp and I have to say, I haven't read such a dynamic exciting character is a long time. Eve Dallas was probably the last one that hooked me this fast.

Hmmmm, which reminds me, I might have to continue on with that series. XD

But it not only the character, if you like pulse pounding action, female heroes thrown into thrilling mysteries and a plot that doesn't let you go, consider the Charlie Fox Series by Zoe Sharp.
