Debbie, I haven't read any Karen Rose, do her books compare to Maggie Shayne's? I just finished the Brown and de Luca series and really liked it.

Laura, Karen Rose is not for the faint of heart! She's classic romantic suspense, the standard by which I measure everyone else by. Strong mystery/suspense, strong romance but the scales are tipped more towards suspense. She's really good and her books need to be read in order.

Shayne has the same couple focused with each story whereas Rose features a different one in each book, somehow connected to past characters.

Laura (Kyahgirl) (kyahgirl) Awesome! thanks. I am running out of RS writers and looking for more.

She would be at the top of my list, in front of Suzanne Brockmann (who I adore), Christy Reece (adore her, too), Cindy Gerard and others.

message 555: by Laura (Kyahgirl) (new)

Laura (Kyahgirl) (kyahgirl) I have read Brockman's Troubleshooter series and loved it, and only one each of the other two. I will check Rose out.

message 556: by Laura (Kyahgirl) (new)

Laura (Kyahgirl) (kyahgirl) Just finished Have Stakes, Will Travel. This is a short story compilation to the go with the Jane Yellowrock series which I'm reading. I love this UF series and all the little short stories fill in the gaps quite nicely.

Have you tried Cynthia Eden's RS books, Laura? She's fantastic.

I read a couple from the Nightwatch series a few years ago and liked them. I actually have a few of hers so I will check her out.

Dosha (Bluestocking7) Beard (bluestocking7) I am reading book 2 of the Willow Creek series by Lily Graison The Outlaw . Book 1, The Lawman was so good, I couldn't wait to start #2. This promises to be a good series for me in the historical romances.

I've not heard of this author. Glad you're enjoying!

Dosha (Bluestocking7) Beard (bluestocking7) Thanks me too. The book has been in my library for over a year. I collect books, never knowing whether or not I'll ever get to them. What a pleasant surprise I have had with series AND the Joe Dillard series by Scott Pratt. Scott Pratt writes murder mysteries that take place in Tennessee

I'm going to call my book fetish "collecting" from now on! Sounds so much better:) I've collected so many now I'm not sure I'll ever be able to read them all in my lifetime, even if I stopped now:)

I'll have to check out Scott Pratt as the mystery genre is my most favorite.

Dosha (Bluestocking7) Beard (bluestocking7) He is a very good writer and all of the characters have a minor story going on to enhance the major story. The first book is An Innocent Client. I enjoyed it using whisper sync and now I'm hooked.

It does sound interesting. I put the audible version on my shelf as it's only $1.99 with the Kindle edition.

Dosha (Bluestocking7) Beard (bluestocking7) I look forward to your thoughts on it. The narrator does a good job.

D.G. I'm listening to The Chase. Man that book is hot. Just what I was looking for.

That's a series that I thought I wouldn't continue but I'm enjoying this book a lot. So most likely than not, I'll be listening to the next one, but I'll leave it for when I'm in the mood to listen something hot.

Lol! I have this series but had no idea it was steamy:)

Dosha (Bluestocking7) Beard (bluestocking7) Is this series anything like the 50 Shades series?

D.G. Dosha (Bluestocking7) wrote: "Is this series anything like the 50 Shades series?"

I haven't read 50 Shades so I can't compare but I don't think so. This series is about NASCAR drivers. I'm not into NASCAR at all but I've enjoyed learning about the world a lot. You can tell the author did a lot of research.

I finished listening to The Good, the Bad, and the Undead by Kim Harrison, The Hollows #2, narrated by Marguerite Gavin, and enjoyed it immensely. Thanks to all of you who encouraged me to keep going with the series. Here's my review.

I'm now listening to Truth by Aleatha Romig, Consequences #2, and am already hooked.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 656 comments I thought I had read the first book in the series, so I read Lethal Consequences, second in the Aegis Security series. Now I've gone back and am reading Extreme Measures.

I also see there is a # 0.5 in this series. Has anyone read it and should it be read to get better into the Aegis series?

Monica | 860 comments I am still planning on starting Inside by Brenda Novak, I just haven't had a moment to sit and read for about a week now.

I just started Talon by Julie Kagawa on audiobook. So far it is similar to Sophie Jordan's dragon series. I'm hoping Kagawa's brilliant writing can separate it from Jordan's though. And just to be clear, I also love Sophie Jordan's work. I just don't want to read the same story.
