Genre: Romance/Second Chance. Plot: hero and heroine meet again at a party held in the honour of Hero. Heroine works for the NYPD journal and she has to write a article on hero.

I read this book in October 2019?? The hero and heroine were friend when they were younger and at the event where they meet once again, Hero tells the audience a story which in reality is actually the story of heroine and her mother who had an illness which couldn’t be cured. She is assigned to write an article on him and in the end heroine gets to know that he pulled some strings to get her this great job just so he could see her again, the public goes crazy and heroine isn’t read to forgive him. She moves back to her hometown with her dad where Hero soon follows, they bump into each other at the market where hero’s foster mom is present. Rest is history! Please help me!

Update: hero doesn’t have a foster mom, it was his actual mom. They were neighbours when they were young

Update: in the years when the H and h were apart, hero’s house got caught on fire and somehow he got out but he went back inside to get JUST a picture of the heroine and gets passes out after that. Please help me find the book, I would really appreciate it
