I've been trying to really explore Christianity and faith recently and want to learn as much as I can. I have already read Mere Christianity and Screwtape, am currently reading The Cost of Discipleship, and have a few books on my to-read list. https://openweb.vip/whatsapp-web/https://19216801.onl/https://routerlogin.uno/ The big areas of interest would be:
Hotly debated theology/denominational issues (ex: The Great Divorce is on my list because it deals with the theology of Hell),
The Church Fathers (specifically the Apostolic fathers, but I'm open to others), and
Christian mysticism (I would like to get more into practicing meditation/contemplation and have a few books on my list, like Sayings of the Desert Fathers and Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius)
I have been a Christian for almost three years. What I found most helpful were the books written by Lee Strobel, specifically The Case for Christ. Not heavy reading, just facts laid out with an easy story. I highly recommend it. Changed my thinking! The Case for Christ
3 books I would highly recommend that every Christian reads are: 1) Destined For the Throne - Paul E. Billheimer; 2) Be Joyful - Warren W. Wiersbe and 3) The Purpose Driven Life - Rick Warren.
I would agree about Lee Strobel "A Case For Christ"! If you wanted some good biographies that are NOT boring, I would highly recommend "A Hiding Place" (Corrie Ten Boom) and "End of the Spear" (Steve Saint).
