E.A. Wicklund (eawicklund) | 6 comments I understand that using listopia is a good way to get your book noticed. So the question becomes would it be in poor taste, bad form to put your own book in a list?

Arthur Chappell | 33 comments Listopia won't let you add your own titles to your lists

Candice | 55 comments There are many lists that can have books added. It depends on how it was set up.

Cheryl (cherylllr) Most careful list creators work hard to create descriptions that would prevent that. Even those who don't tend to think of it as spam. I don't recommend it unless you're positive that 1. it fits the theme of the list perfectly and 2. the creator wants a long inclusive list, instead of an exclusive Best Of.

Candice | 55 comments I see the difference. I haven’t written the books I’m adding. That makes sense.

Since when?

Well, in any case, using sock puppets or family to add books to curated lists is also unethical.

Cheryl (cherylllr) Huh. I was sure that it used to be a big problem, and not too long ago.

Maybe you are remembering sock puppet or family abuse."
