2020 is almost here, so we're reflecting on the past year. What's been your favorite book of 2019 and why?

My favorite book this year was Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I'm a sucker for 1960s-'70s rock music, and if Daisy Jones & the Six were a real band, I would be obsessed with them. I know some people didn't like the documentary/interview format, and I can understand that - I think reading it might be odd, but I listened to the audiobook, which I think lent itself very well to the style. I loved the story and found the characters fascinating and am looking forward to re-reading it in the future! My only complaint would be the lack of diversity. I'm glad there were strong women in the book, but it felt...very white, but I guess that's not surprising because, well, '70s rock is very white.
