Rachel, Jenny and I are starting a buddy read of by Sarah Fine on Monday, November 24th!! Everyone is welcome to join!

There are no set chapters per day, we just read at our own paces and start each post with how far along you are, i.e., Chapter #, %, using spoilers where needed. Have fun!

I've started and I'm up to 31% (view spoiler)[ so far, its interesting, in how Lela has to balance normal life with being a Guardian. I'm not happy with Malachi or Jim at the moment though. And the way Ian expressed interest in her, I hope there won't be a sudden love triangle! (hide spoiler)]

Hi sorry, I've not been well but I started this last night. I'm at 12% (view spoiler)[ I think the balance between school and hunting the Mazikin is interesting but (hide spoiler)] it's a little slow for me so far.

Okay I'm now at 71% Things are getting good now (view spoiler)[ Is it horrible that I actually prefer Ian to Malachi?? I know it won't last though *sad face* (hide spoiler)]

I'm 21% in so far. Thank goodness it's holding my attention at least. (view spoiler)[I'm curious about the 2 guards and how they do in the modern world. Actually I think it's an interesting concept to bring 3 men into the modern world with no idea how things work in this day and age.

And yes, the switch to normal high school is a "challenge" for them. With all the stupid teenage stupidity like paintguns and alcohol to go after the animal things. *facepalm* Lela has her hands full with 3 guys from the past world and then the idiot teens. (hide spoiler)]

So far it's actually a little better than I expected. I'm glad we're not in that dark hell any longer.

I'm at 46% I wasn't sure at first but I am now really liking the mix of modern world and guards from the old world. I didn't like (view spoiler)[ That Malachi decided that he needed to end his relationship with Lela. I don't get how its going to help him do his job because now they have a massive wedge between them that will stop them from acting as a united team. I'm interested to see how the Mazikins hit next... Ibram/Aden committing suicide was rather a clever idea. (hide spoiler)]

I finished it! Overall, I enjoyed it, although just like the first book, the romance arc in this one just about had me gagging! Although, I must say, I REALLY like Ian!!! It sucks that Lela doesn't like him back! (view spoiler)[ Okay that ending was surprising, the part where Malachi was turned was really good and I was into it...but Lela throwing herself off a cliff?? AGAIN??? Starting to get a little cliched! (hide spoiler)] I will read the final book, in fact I just started a free trial of Kindle Unlimited, and that was the first book I borrowed! LOL

I'm at 60% now. I'm struggling a bit because (view spoiler)[ Lela and Malachi are pussy-footing around each other and trying not to be together for silly reasons. I hate it when books do this. It seems so ridiculous. Why can't they work through it because they know what they want? Rather than take the 'easy way' out and give up? It's so frustrating! (hide spoiler)] I've just started to get more of Ian in the storyline and I agree with you Jenny, I think he's really lovely.

Oow how are you finding Kindle Unlimited? Can you get most books on it? I was thinking of it but I have so many books on my shelf to read that it doesn't seem worth it right now. Maybe next year for the summer holiday :)

Theres a TON of ebooks on Unlimited! You can get it free for a month. I think I may keep it!

You can have 10 books at a time, its kind of a like a loan type of thing. But ALOT of self published authors are on there, which is so cool! And some big named authors too! For $10 a month, its not a bad deal :)

I love Kindle Unlimited! You can get all of David Estes's books on there too! It is so nice to not actually spend so much buying books every month, some I end up not really liking. This way you can read and if you don't like and stop reading you just return it and get another one.

I've only read a few more pages. I haven't got to a "can't put down" point. Plus everytime I pick it up, I fall asleep. Whoops.

I'm only just starting to get to a point where I a can't put it down... I'm at 78% now. I just haven't felt the same pull to read this book as I did with Sanctum. I'm starting to enjoy it more now though. So keep going Karen! If you can stay awake hehe.

I may have to have a look into Kindle Unlimited then as I buy way to many and my shelves are over flowing! Plus you never know what awesome new authors you'll find!

(hide spoiler)] I didn't enjoy this one as much as book one as I felt I had to push through most of the book but I will be reading book 3 because I really need to know what happens at the end of this series.

Same Rachel! Yeah (view spoiler)[ I wasn't as upset about Malachi as I should have been. I was honestly just glad Ian was okay! Jim DEVASTATED me! I'm also a little tired of the "gateway" from one world to the next...there is something wrong about having to kill yourself to get there! (hide spoiler)]

70% I have a soft spot for both Jim and Henry. Especially Jim who seems to be embracing the real world and Tegan. :)

I'm pretty annoyed with the relationship of Lela and Malachi. They're trying to save people but yet they're doing petty stupid things to make the other jealous. *facepalm*

I do like Ian too! He'd be good for Lela! Make her more normal. If she's allowed to ever be normal again. I like him better than Malachi for her at this point.

Yes, this series would be so much better if not for the train wreck and relationship between Malachi and Lela. Lots of eye rolling going on while I'm reading!

I just try to ignore a lot of their drama. I like the concept and the adventure aspect to it. I think I liked the first book better though.

No problem, Jenny. Unfortunately I didn't finish this before leaving on vacation and didn't have room to pack the hardback in my suitcase for 20% of book. :( Will finish when I get back next week. :)

Finished! I completely agree with both of you on all of it. I was also more devestated (view spoiler)[about Jim than Malachi. Probably because I'm pretty sure we'll get Malachi back in book 3. Lela seems to get what she wants. Like her voyage to hell to get her friend out of there in book 1.

I was rooting for her and Ian. And didn't see it coming when Malachi became possessed. So... wow. That ending, Rachel! Agreed!

And so much for shiny versions of angels. Yikes! (hide spoiler)]

I think I'll continue this series as well.
