Siew-ling | 3 comments Hi. I'm new to the group so I hope I am posting correctly.

I remember reading a book about 20-25 years ago when I was a young teen about a group of carousel horses that came to life (I believe in the moonlight). The story then followed their lives/adventures as real horses. I remember the end was bitter sweet/sad. I remember a few ends for the horses but don't want to spoil it if someone becomes interested in reading it from this post.

I have looked at some other posts but these were only about single horses or about children being involved in making the horses come to life. This book was about a full carousel and did not involve children unless this was part of the horses story.

Thank you in advance.

Was this a picture book or chapter book? Was it aimed at a very young reader, or middle grades, or YA? Do you remember the cover? Did it have illustrations, and what style were they in? Color, black and white, pastel vs. bright, detailed vs. simple, lots of black line vs. no or little black outline?

Siew-ling | 3 comments Hi lobstergirl. Sorry about the delay in getting back to you. It was a chapter book and it would have been a young adult book. Unfortunately I don't remember the cover picture but I have a vague recollection that it had the little black and white ink drawings at the beginning of each chapter.

Hi Michele. Sorry it's not The carousel. The story did not have a child /person as a main character.

Thank you :-)
