I finished a few more books this month but bit off more than I can chew by picking some of the larger series I wanted to finish. There's no way I can get all this done by the end of the year.

I've done that before, but I edit my challenge throughout the year. I've removed two series I planned to read and added others. You might want to save the long series for next year and replace it with a trilogy.
YAY! I finished another series - that's 6! I just finished Jayne Fresina's The Deverells series. Enjoyed the whole series - average of 4 stars for me. I recommend!

I am considering tackling the Mackenzies and McBrides series by Jennifer Ashley. I'm just now reading one of them for the BOTM and might try reading the rest of them in 2021.
I'm also considering Jo Beverley's Mallorens and friends. I read #1 (My Lady Notorious) recently and quite enjoyed it. So maybe??
Not sure what else just yet.

If you do decide to read Mackenzies and McBrides series by Jennifer Ashley in 2021, I would be interested in doing a buddy read of the last two books. I never finished 10 and 11.
Since I have not finished my 2020 series challenge yet, I haven't really started planning; but I think I will choose a series for each of these authors: Jodi Thomas, Vikki Kestell, Mary Balogh, Lynsay Sands, Jane Ashford, and Valerie Bowman.

I haven't tried all of the authors you mention above. Will be interested to see your feedback when you try their series.

Oh yes I might do a Liz Carlyle series too.

Priya for next year, can we just continue where we leave off of the series we got going but haven't completed?

Hi Mamacita,
I'm not a mod; but I would say, yes, you can. My first year, I thought that I had to read every book in a series during one calendar year to count it. However, since then, I noticed that many count the series (though not all the books) if they finish it. Sometimes I reread previously read books in the series. Other times I don't. There will definitely be a series or two that I started this year and will count and finish in 2021.
You will have to copy over to the new thread though.

Yes, you can! It is not compulsory that you must have read all the books of the series in the same year. You could include partially read series too. All you have to do is complete the series in the year of challenge.
I loved The Bedwyn Saga and The Survivors' Club, but I could not finish Heartless. Georgian is out. Which Mary Balogh series should I read in 2021?
Mariana wrote: "I loved The Bedwyn Saga and The Survivors' Club, but I could not finish Heartless. Georgian is out. Which Mary Balogh series should I read in 2021?"Mary Balogh's Georgian series is good. also, Huxtable-Quintet Series
Mariana wrote: "I loved The Bedwyn Saga and The Survivors' Club, but I could not finish Heartless. Georgian is out. Which Mary Balogh series should I read in 2021?"I like her Four Horseman series (Regency), but as Heartless is a fav book of mine, it seems we may have different tastes. Four Horseman is only three books (one book has two romances in it) so easily doable. It's one of her older series, which on the whole I prefer.
I also liked the Mistress books, but again, only three books (plus a novella).
There's also the Simply series, which is connected to the Bedwyn series and has some familiar characters making cameo appearances. I liked some of these books.
I'm not a massive fan of her current series, Westcotts. To me it's not as well-written or involving as some of her older books. Many like it, though, and you might too. It's a longer series.
Thank you both for the suggestions. I think I will see which of these series my library has most of.

Thanks Shaz. As far as I know, this is her only series, which is a shame as she's definitely a quality writer. There are 6 books, which can be read in publishing order or chronological order. I read them in chronological order and for me it made more sense that way.
They are a bit different as they have the spy theme, but they also relate to aspects of the French Revolution in the earlier set books. Some are set in France/England and some just in England.
I read The Forbidden Rose first. Set during the French Revolution. Maggie and William. William is wonderful!
