I know this is a little early but.. I decided to post this anyways.

So I was going through my TBR shelves on Goodreads and realizing that I have thousands of books on there.. and it is just scary to think about.

So since I have read way more books this year(2014) than my goal of 80 books.

I decided to up the anty for next year and set my goal for 150 books.

Have any of you decided on what your 2015 Reading Goal will be?
Are you still undecided as to how many you want to read next year?
Any spoilers to what you plan to read next year?

message 2: by Jessica (new)

Jessica I'm thinking in the 200s. I not exactly sure on the exact number though.

Jess! I read Drink, Slay, Love by Sarah Beth Durst a while ago and loved it when I read it!

Great choices so far! How many books have you read so far this year? That's a high goal for next year!

message 4: by Jessica (new)

Jessica So far I've read 199 books. I'm obviously still going to read more that's why I decided to put my goal in the 200s.

I have heard really great things about the book Drink,Slay,Love. So I'm super excited to read it.

Jessica I can't wait for Tiger's Dream to come out. I love the Tigers Curse saga. Tiger's Voyage was my favorite in the series plus it kinda felt that the series was done in Tiger's Destiny so I was super confused and excited when I found out about Tiger's Dream.

YESSSS! I adore The Tiger Saga too! Tiger's Voyage was also my favorite of the series. Have you read Tiger's Promise (The Tiger Saga, #.5) ? There's a chapter or so of Tiger's Dream in it and it helps to understand why there's going to be another book.

I felt like it ended pretty nicely in Tiger's Destiny too (well nice enough lol).

message 8: by Jessica (last edited Nov 20, 2014 08:13PM) (new)

Jessica No, I haven't read Tigers Promise yet. :(

The ending did end nicely. I just wish that they didn't have to (view spoiler)

These Violent Delights (Robin) | 1236 comments Mod
You really should!

I don't really remember but I think he was. In the fanfics they wrote him as handsome. I actually liked them though they were pretty good.

These Violent Delights (Robin) | 1236 comments Mod
Hmm, may have to check them out :) Are you excited for the Tiger's Curse Adaptation

message 14: by Jessica (new)

Jessica I'm also really looking forward to Reawakened (Reawakened, #1) by Colleen Houck
Colleen Houck is now one of my favorite authors so I'm 100% positive that it should be an amazing book. The summary is already sounding awesome.

Jessica Robin wrote: "Hmm, may have to check them out :) Are you excited for the Tiger's Curse Adaptation"

Yeah, even though half the time they don't even adapt the books into movies good I really looking forward to it. I think I'll have to love the movie because I love the book too much too not to.

These Violent Delights (Robin) | 1236 comments Mod
Haha, I know.. that's how I felt when watching THG but eventually I liked THG movie after watching it quite a few times.

Yeah, I'm really excited for Reawakened too!! anything by Mrs. Houck is definitely going to be off the charts awesome :)

message 17: by Audryaunna (new)

Audryaunna | 119 comments My Goal this year was 150 books. I was surprised that I was able to pass that goal. I bumped it up to 200 books. I am hoping I can still reach my goal of 200. I reaching for a goal 250 next year 250. I know that is a lot, but I am hoping I can accomplish it. :)

message 18: by Sophie (new)

Sophie | 139 comments This year my goal was 50 books and so far I've read 83 I think. I'm still not sure about next year, it will be something upwards of 80, I'm thinking maybe 90. :)

message 19: by Audryaunna (new)

Audryaunna | 119 comments Oh shoot, I think I misinterpreted the goal. I was giving you my whole goal. I do read a lot of children's book. For YA books alone I am hoping for a goal of 100. I am so sorry. Please forgive me. :)

message 20: by Sophie (new)

Sophie | 139 comments I didn't do YA either. I don't have a specific goal for just YA. :)

message 21: by Irene (new)

Irene (raenne) My main goal is to get down to 100 unread books on my shelves - that should be hard enough as it is, since I have over 200 right now, and even if I don't buy any books, I still get some from publishers and authors (not that I complain though). So I guess I'll go for 150 in the 2015 goodreads challenge - and at least 100 pages/day in average (shouldn't be a problem).

message 22: by Tammie (new)

Tammie Tackett i would like to try for 80 this year

My goal this year was 36 and so far I think I'm 83 or something so next year I'm thinking 50 or 60, because I'm not sure if I'll be able to do as well as this year...

Good luck for everyone with their challenges! Some of you guys have got some seriously high goals, I don't know how 200 is even possible, lol.

message 24: by Erin Lynn (new)

Erin Lynn | 2727 comments Mod
Well... based on what I've read so far this year, I am going to go for one hundred books or more.

message 25: by Megan (new)

Megan (megantron119) | 486 comments My goal this year was 75 and I have read 94 so far. I think I may up it to 85 or may even be extremely ambitious and aim for 100.

For those who have done the goodreads challenge for a couple of years I have a question and don't know where else to ask. If I reread a book next year that I have read this year will it be counted to my 2015 goal if I change the dates read? Will it stay in my 2014 goal as well? This was my first year of being on goodreads so I don't really know how the reading challenge works for more than one year. Thanks!

These Violent Delights (Robin) | 1236 comments Mod
@Megan. I think that the book you reread will count as long as you change the date read.

To be honest, I've never reread a book since joining Goodreads..

If you change the date read, it will remove it from any past challenges to add it to the most current yearly challenge. Goodreads really needs to add a re-read feature so we can count them again.

message 28: by Megan (new)

Megan (megantron119) | 486 comments Thanks, Robin and Erin! I figured that would happen, but I wasn't for sure. I have to reread books because I am a lot like Dory, especially any more lol. I can't remember everything that happens in some books even though I haven't read them very long ago. :)

message 29: by Audra (new)

Audra (DivergentHungerGames22) Some books I will read next year:
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
If I Stay Collection by Gayle Forman
Divergent Series Complete Box Set (Divergent, #1-3) by Veronica Roth
The Hunger Games Trilogy Boxset (The Hunger Games, #1-3) by Suzanne Collins
Four A Divergent Story Collection (Divergent, #0.1 - 0.4) by Veronica Roth

Any other suggestions?

You're welcome!

I know what you mean. I keep wanting to re-read books because I've forgotten a few things about them, but I keep getting distracted by all the new books that keep coming out.

I really like The Mara Dyer Trilogy. I haven't read the third book yet because I have it on e-book and am trying to wait until the first of the year to read my e-books.

I do that too, or I end up buying more books from book sales. I can't stay away from them lol.

message 33: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (the_librocubicultarist) I think I'll go for 175 or 200 in 2015.
My goal this year is 150, I've read 147 already, almost done with 148. That means by the end of this week I'll complete my challenge and there will be 4 weeks of the year remaining.

message 34: by Nila (new)

Nila (dearnila) Probably twenty, that's alot less than most of you guys lol

Next year i'm going to read

To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han

Looking for Alaska by John Green

Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush, #1) by Becca Fitzpatrick

Halo (Halo, #1) by Alexandra Adornetto

The 5th Wave (The Fifth Wave, #1) by Rick Yancey

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

message 35: by Mjkluio789 (new)

Mjkluio789 I would like to read 100 books in 2015. I'm not sure how many I read this year but it wasn't as much as I would have liked. Hope next year is better.
Any great books to recommend?

message 36: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn (englishbrkfstt) I finished 150 books in 2014 so my goal for 2015 is to read at least 200 books!

Great job on accomplishing your Goodreads goal this year Carolyn! I plan on reading 150 books this year myself, and you give me hope that this isn't an impossible feat. Goodluck on your 2015 goal of 200 books!

message 38: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn (englishbrkfstt) You can do it!! I had some weeks where I knocked out 4 or 5 books and others where I didn't even finish one. It is possible :)

Janessa | 2 comments Hi guys,

I'm new to the group. 2014 was the first time I committed to the reading challenge and I got so into it once I realized the year was almost over. My goal was small, 15 books, but I made it. I am actually on my 17th book right now. Im thinking of making my goal 30 books for 2015. I'm excited to be a part of this group :)

Sophie | 139 comments I've thought some more about my reading goals for 2015. I want to read 75 books which will be a challenge but hopefully not too diffucult. I also want to focus on reading books off my to-read list (particuarly my YA to-reads) and read more classics (possibly try for at least one a month).

message 45: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (bibliophilebecca) | 1 comments I read 26 books this year. My goal for this year is 50 books. I know it doesn't sound like a lot but with being a full time teacher with a toddler, I think it's a good, manageable goal.

message 46: by Pam (new)

Pam Kitiyadisai (pam8june) My goal for 2014 was 50, I know it isn't much but balancing books with university I'm happy I reached my goal!
For 2015 I will probably go for 70-75 books and aiming for more classics...
