There was a short storyline involving Frank Walter (Dorian’s chef) and Gemma (the prostitute). Your thoughts about it? Did the author stay true to both of them? If so, how? If not, why not?

Lauren (laurenjberman) This was a sweet subplot - they are perfectly suited. I also enjoyed the inclusion of Murdoch and Tallow's LGBT relationship and the references to the anti-gay laws of the time.

Robin (robinmy) | 2485 comments I liked all of the secondary characters that were in Dorian's world. It was interesting how loyal all of them were to him.

What I really liked about how their relationship was handled is how the author didn’t change anything about either one of them. Gemma gets to maintain her independent nature as Frank will defer to her judgment and he gets a woman who appreciates his brute strength but isn’t looking for him to take the lead in the relationship.

Lauren, I mentioned Murdoch’s relationship earlier as I concur!
