Seventeen year old, Mattie Hathaway, has enough on her plate without having to deal with the latest teenage ghost drama. The ghosts of eight murdered girls are out for her blood. They blame Mattie for their deaths. She has to figure out what happened to them before they make sure she ends up just like them…dead and angry.

Not only that, but she has to face the greatest fear of her young life, the death of the only person she’s ever loved. Can she let nature take its course or will she interfere and cause the balance of life and death to spiral out of control?

She’s out of time, and doesn’t know if she should trust Silas, the demon who has taken a very disturbing interest in her or her father, a man just as evil as Silas.

Either way, she has to make a choice. But what will it cost her and those she loves?

29% (view spoiler)[I’m really getting into this series. I’m glad it picked up right where it left off in the last book. I took so much joy in Mattie punching Meg and breaking her nose. Don’t even feel bad lol. I’m glad her and damn came to some sort of agreement though. Worried about this sudden appearance from her father, Silas the painter demon AGAIN and all these new pissed off ghosts. This girl can’t get a moments peace lol (hide spoiler)]

Makes me wonder what he means when he says she’s his, maybe her mom or dad sold their child for a favor. But then how is all their pasts connected, the Malone’s, Dans family and Mattie’s?!? Oh and plz don’t let it be fated that she’s that lady from New Orleans whose husband kills her, especially if it’s eli whose destined to repeat that. Hope my mind is just running away. I mean Eli is her guardian angel, that’s so sweet and honestly exactly what she needs lol, always getting kidnapped, killed/assaulted by ghosts, falling through floors with no holes smh. I mean my god she fell on her head three times in one day, no shit she had a major concussion lol. Just swooning over here about Eli, uh that little speech he gave her and how he knows just how to talk/handle her, well he has me hook line and sinker. Finished (view spoiler)[Well son of a bitch if this didn't end worse off than the last one. Each book more and more happens, goodness it's hard to wrap my head around it all. I'm supremely saddened for Dan and Mattie. I mean sure I was hating on Meg but damn if I wanted her to die. But omg when Dan said he would have made the same choice even knowing Meg would die, well damn if he didn't win me back. I'm still team Eli but he's not her person yet like Dan is.
Ahhhh and what's this madness with the Doc. I'm dying here and if the urgency to read this one was a lot, now I'm ready to drop everything else to move on. Can't believe how much I am loving this series and how long it sat (book one at least) on my kindle until now. Man I was missing out. (hide spoiler)]

So I was looking into the future books and 3.5 is about Mary and Caleb, it's a shortie but I think I want to read that one before jumping into book four. I read a lot of novella length books so it won't be hard for me to find something to pair it with :) If you're still on board let me know and I'm ready for the next one ASAP lol.

We can definitely dive into that one, it’s another of many that’s been on my list for awhile now and just keeps getting pushed back lol. I think heather will probably jump into that one too, think we got her to jump aboard the RH train lol ( I want to jump in on that monster RH you and Jennifer are reading but I just can’t do unfinished series lol I’m a baby like that)

I’m thinking maybe more towards the end of the month if that works. I have some books not BRs wanna squeeze in this month. Maybe after the 20th? I can set it up if that works?!

I’m mad I’m pretty sure I met this author at a book event, and even then this book was overlooked on my part. What was I thinking?!?! I really am enjoying it. Hoping to get 3.5 read today so I’ll be ready for the next one lol
