Yet I do have a temporary answer: A Little Hatred
Name: Timelord Iain
Year 2 Team: Tome Readers/Raiders
Year 2 Individual Points: 1970.6
Favourite read of 2019: Off the top of my head, I'd say Guns of the Dawn... but seriously, having read 400-500 books this year, it's hard to pick just one... Guns of the Dawn comes to mind because I went in with no expectations, and the book just got better and better as it progressed...

Year 2 Team: House of Chains
Year 2 Individual Points: 706
Favourite read of 2019: The Mad Ship
EDIT: Just to add, I don't think I'll do as many buddy reads next year so that will affect my points going forward. Total burn out achieved this year, to the point that I'm still in a two month slump...!
Hopefully be right as rain by January, same as this year!

Year 2 Team: Tome Raiders
Year 2 Individual Points: 834.6
Favourite read of 2019: Super Powereds (the entire series); I had other great reads but, having read this series over months, it left the biggest impression :)

Year 2 Team: Tome Raiders
Year 2 Individual Points: 424.9
Favourite read of 2019: Currently it is Promise of Blood. It's made me a convert to Flintlock fantasy.

Year 2 Team: Jaghut Guardians
Year 2 Individual Points: 437.7
Favourite read of 2019: Already Gone by Bridget E. Baker

Year Two Team: Blood Eagles

Year 2 Team: Jaghut Guardians

Year 2 Team: Tome Raiders
Year 2 Individual Points: 951.8
Favourite read of 2019: Oh that's a tough one, I have four, but if I had to pick one, Senlin Ascends.

Year 2 Points: 481.6 points
Year 2 Team Name: Jaghut Guardians
Favorite Read: The Emperor's Blades, Heroes, and The Heresy Within. So many to choose from

Also I'm in a nonconformist category (returning player but skipped this year) so please bear with the slight deviations/expositions in this post. I will try to keep it minimal/to the form as much as possible.
Year 2 team: None but a returning player, read for Tome Raiders in Year 1
Year 2 points: Zero 👌🙈 but Year 1 was above 650 without the eyeball bonus, if I remember correctly. This year was a very lacklustre reading/"participative" year for me. Aiming for 80 goodsized (not skinny) books in 2020 and largely read paperbacks/ebooks. Hope this helps with the numerical projections.
Favourite Read of 2019: Deadhouse Gates, read in the fortnight starting Jan 10th. But fave FBR buddy reading experience was NOS4a2 since I logged on to chat about that book almost daily for over a month :)

Year 2 Team: Tome Raiders
Year 2 Individual Points: 411.5
Favourite read of 2019: Excuding rereads I can't choose between Ruin and Wayward Son

Year 2 team: Jaghut guardians
Year 2 individual points: 413.7
Favorite read of 2019: Iron and Maguc, Norse mythology, homegoing. Sorry difficult to pick one

Year 2 Team: Blood Eagles
Year 2 Individual Points: 812.7
But for next year's calculations, I won't be able to read that much next year. I started a new job (actually my first full-time job...) and I went from an average of 12 books a month to only 3 🙈 It might increase again, once I'm more familiar with the whole situation, but I think around 300-350 points will be far more accurate.
Favorite reads ( :) ) of 2019: A Little Hatred, Super Powereds: Year 4 and Thick as Thieves

Year 2 team: House of Chains
Year 2 individual points: 896
Favorite read(s) of 2019: The Epic Crush of Genie Lo, Deathcaster, Dragon Bones, A Duke in Disguise, The Orphans of Raspay.

Year 2 Team: Tome Raiders
Year 2 Individual Points: 140.3
Favorite read of 2019: Like Hacen, I'm picking Holy Sister, mostly on the strength of it wrapping up a beautifully done trilogy.
Honorable mentions: The Millennial Manifesto, Smoke and Stone, Onslaught of Madness, Limited Wish, One Word Kill, and Mage's Blood
As far as the tourney, I almost didn't sign up. Coming in last place every time isn't fun. But Zaara gave me a pep talk :)
And of course I have the bragging rights of being the Top last place finisher.

Favourite read of 2019: The Sunne in Splendour

Year 2 Team: House of Chains
Year 2 Individual Points: 693.8
Favourite read of 2019: The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet
Note: I won't be doing as many BRs next year as I did this year so I don't expect to get as many points.

Year 2 Team: House of Chains
Year 2 Individual Points: 239.4
Favourite read of 2019: The Song of Achilles
I've enjoyed the competition the past couple years. It's a nice way to stay connected with the group even when I'm off reading my own thing and not active in any BRs. It's also motivating and fun to see all those juicy spreadsheet stats!

Rob
Year 2 Team: Blood Eagles
Year 2 Individual Points: 320.70
Year 2 Books: I think the sheet is off, but on goodreads this year I'm at 90. (85 or so I guess but a bunch of graphic novels in there too).
Fav Book for me was: Sword of Kaigen or A Little Hatred.
Julia
Year 2 Team: Blood Eagles
Total Points 1941.7
Total Books: 500

I've been debating if I should join for round three because I'm really hoping to have a reading year without any stress in 2020 and also wasn't on GR much the last few weeks. But the team interactions always were a lot of fun and maybe it will motivate me to engage in more bookish discussions again. :)
Name: Bea
Year 2 team: Tome Raiders
Year 2 Individual Points: 701.4
Favorite read of 2019: Idk, The Sword of Kaigen was pretty awesome, also my Malazan rereads obviously
Note on the points: My goal for 2020 is to put no pressure on myself when it comes to reading and to enjoy it as much as possible. So I'm not expecting to score as many points as in 2019.

2019 number of books read: 18
2019 number of buddy reads read with the group: 5
Favorite read of 2019: Prince of Thorns
Newbie here.. I only really started using Goodreads in mid- September this year despite having joined in 2018, I thought it was an app to download books on lol but then never used it. I don't know how successful I'll be at getting points, I probably won't manage to read as many as you guys. Though half the problem was finding the next book to read, but this is great for finding reading inspiration, I wish I'd used it sooner. I also do tend to slow my pace if I really want to enjoy something and don't want to fell pressured to read otherwise it'll take the enjoyment out so I probably won't be that much help lol. But it sounds like fun!

Name: Maria
2019 number of books read: 20
2019 number of buddy reads read with the group: 9
Favorite read of 2019: ahh why would you make me choose but ok The Name of the Wind

Year 2 Team: Jaghut Guardians
Year 2 Individual Points: 2172.7
2019 Fav Book/s: I read too many books to have one favorite. LoL
Fav Series: System Apocalypse, Threadbare, Chronicles of Elantra, Andrea Vernon, Completionist Chronicles, Pendergast, Jane Hawk, Gray Man, Space Team, Longmire, Cradle, Orphan X, Divine Dungeon, Joe Ledger, Charlie Parker, Mercy Thompson
Stand Out Books: The Wicked King, The Illiad Of Homer, The Last Sun, House of Chains, The Martian, Altered Carbon, Someone Like Me, Anathem, Skirmish, Firstborn, The Rosewater Redemption, The Dark Forest
Great Popcorn Series:
The Good Guys by Eric Ugland
Kurtherian Gambit by Michael Anderle
Wandering Inn by Pirateaba (This is a long webseries that I have gotten suckered into reading after listening to Vol1. Writing is inconsistent but cool concepts and fun to read.)
Note for 2020
I will continue chomping down a bunch of books but I will not be doing a lot of Buddy Reads. I know I will be more busy next year and I don't want to add time restraints by trying to do a lot of BRs. I will continue doing some Challenges. That will help to offset the audio penalty a bit.
It's down to the wire now, but I think the mods will be announcing the teams soon. To that end, me and Virginie (mostly Virginie) have been working on the 2020 Score Sheet the last few days/weeks. For 2020, we want to simplify formulas and the amount of calculations being done where we can.
To do this, we have a quick question we'd like everyone to answer, over in the newly created 2020 Google Scoresheet thread: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Head over there now, when you get a chance, to pick how many bells and whistles you want/need on your sheet, so we can copy the appropriate template when the new sheets are ready.
Also, this will be the sheet to report any errors/issues throughout 2020. Thanks a bunch. (Veteran participants know the rigamarole)

Hi Bryce! You have 30 comments in the group so far. If you hover above your name on one of your comments, you can see the number. Stick around for a while and we will also be adding members to the competition as the year progresses as long as they meet the 100 comment minimum.

Favourite read of 2019: too many to choose
Taking it easy this year, so I'm definitely not going to make that many points this time around. I was having severe reading burnout by mid October...
I'd like to have the monthly sheet, or just the same one as last year if that's easier for you. Thanks!

I'd love to join again if I may?

If you start spam commenting in order to make it to 100 comments, this will be taken into consideration and we will hold out on adding you to the competition.
