December 2019 short story reads: Reading list

I would still read The Velveteen Rabbit if anyone else wants to.
maybe getting 4 books in a month is too hard? I mean, it was for me!
FYI, the Norah Lofts group re-read How Far to Bethlehem for December, and do every year. it was a first time read for me and I really enjoyed it - for sure plan to re-read next year.
Dec. 2-8: How the Grinch Stole Christmas! by Dr. Seuss.
Dec. 9-15: A Christmas Memory by Truman Capote (the beloved fruitcake story. It almost makes me want to eat a piece of fruitcake. Almost.).
Dec. 16-22: The Velveteen Rabbit (ebook is free on Gutenberg.org).
Dec. 23-29: On Christmas Day in the Evening (the sequel to On Christmas Day in the Morning, which we read last year. If you missed it, I recommend giving that one a quick read first. Both are free ebooks on Gutenberg).
Also, the Grinch and Capote's Christmas Memory are on YouTube if you'd like to listen to them there. I thought the Capote reading was just an abridged version, but I see several different videos and some look full-length, though I haven't checked them out yet.
We had some great suggestions in the nominations thread and I recommend checking all of them out. Thanks for participating!
I'll set up a separate discussion thread for each story.
