I finished my short story challenge with the 1st 4 stories from Dubliners and finished my group read challenge with Tortilla Flat. Yay!
I've completed my 4th Challenge from the challenge buffet with the Old and New Challenge. For the first time ever with these and BINGO I haven't had any duplicates except for the group reads one, which is a timing challenge. I had decided to abandon my Women's Century Challenge but it is in reach with BINGO and the rest of these done now. I'm starting on the 5th one today. I may get distracted with other books but, for now, it's still a possibility.
Bravo, YOU! I bit off more than I could chew this year, but it looks like you set the table just right.
Sara wrote: "Bravo, YOU! I bit off more than I could chew this year, but it looks like you set the table just right."Thanks Sara! It was a bit too much for me. I won't do as many next year unless I'm able to backfill with some that I've already read at midyear and they seem viable.
I’m not doing challenges next year. Maybe if I read a number of classics that I couldn’t focus on this year, I’ll fill in a bingo card later in the year. Otherwise I’m just going to go through my tbr, starting early in the year with A Fine Balance.

I'd spend too much time deciding what to read next!
Laurie wrote: "No duplicates is so impressive! Congrats on completing so many challenges with so many books."Thank you Laurie!
Yes congratulations. You did a nice job on your challenges. Take your time next year and fill in as you go. I have only completed three challenges from the buffet and I think I will finish Bingo as well. I didn't check how many are duplicates, but I am sure it is quite a few.
Thanks Lynn. I think I will end up doubling up next year. I made a plan but I don't mind deviating. I may even complete this woman's challenge yet. Only 2 left, but I have others to read in December.
I can't believe I ate the whole thing! I finished my 5th of my 5 buffet challenges with challenge #5. It was destined. Too bad it wasn't with a 5-star book. It was with Cold Comfort Farm which I found entertaining but in a 3-star sort of way.

Cold Comfort Farm is a book I thought was fun and pleasant, but not a five star read for me either. I'm glad you finished up on something you liked!
Congratulations, Sue! Fantastic challenges, even if the last book was so-so. (I warmed up to Cold Comfort Farm by the end of it, but definitely understand your feeling.)I see lots of other 4 and 5 star reads in this group though. I'm particularly looking at the 5 big stars you gave The Hours. I must get to that one!
12 Pulitzers? You did great! I need to get back on track ;). Looking forward to reading with you next year :-)

Thanks Kathleen! I think you would love The Hours if you've read Mrs. Dalloway and loved that.
Brina wrote: "12 Pulitzers? You did great! I need to get back on track ;). Looking forward to reading with you next year :-)"Thanks, Brina! I also read 2 other Pulitzers and I'm hoping to get in one more before the end of the year because it would put me at the halfway point on the list. I may be abandoning the Pulitzers after next year because I'm having trouble getting them. I said I wasn't going to buy any more, but I just received 3 that I purchased (used) in the mail today! I'm pretty sure that I'll like these 3 but there are many on the list that I'm not sure about.
I'm looking forward to reading with you in buddy reads next year too!
