The Elf on the Shelf question

Elf on the Shelf, by Carol V. Aebersold......Looking for some creative ideas to add to this wonderful family tradition. We tied fishing line to the elf one night and video recorded the elf (Tommy) "flying" across the room and out the living room window. We showed the video to our daughter and since then her behavior has been immaculate! She no longer thinks Tommy the elf doesn't report her behaviors to Santa every night . Does anyone else have ideas or suggestions to share with the rest of us Elf On The Shelf Christmas tradionalists?
