Just to reiterate there are SPOILERS AHEAD!!

Okay well I know this is very vague and i'm sorry but here it goes. All I can remember well is the end of the book, there the time traveler who has accidentally traveled to the past and he is shot whilst in his car trying to stop another version of himself from changing the future. It is all a rather large paradox and quite hard to explain. I also only remember a little of himself in the basement and finding miltiple (not sure it this is right), suitcase or articles of some description revealing to him that what he was been going through has been recurring for a long time and he is not the first version of himself to have traveled to that time. Please help!!
