sci-fi/Fantasy- Mage is discovered with great magic in a coming of age/job ceremony. He is forced to swear allegiance to the king and in order to escape being killed teleports himself into the future where magic doesn't exist. He lives in an orphanage for a while. Is then abducted by alien slavers only to rescue a starship captain and can manipulate technology/make copies.
