Dawn, I enjoyed my book a lot! I think it well deserved the Booker Prize!

Annerlee | 2871 comments Good choice Jenn. I liked that Dirk Gently one! Will be on the overnight boat again on Saturday, so will start my challenge book then. The Crossing should be fairly calm. So fingers crossed I can read quite a chunk.

Laura (Lclwags) (lclwags) | 698 comments I've been traveling and away from a computer, so I haven't been able to comment. I'm reading Winter's Tale by Mark Helprin. Cherie's book was Ella Minnow Pea: A Novel in Letters by Mark Dunn, so I chose a book with an author with the same first name.

Margo | 11628 comments @Anne, I finally listened to Bring Me Back Bring Me Back by B.A. Paris based on the colour of the cover.

If you can cast your mind back (ha) I was matched with your choice of The Bees by Laline Paull . I tried Laline Paull other book, The Ice by Laline Paull but I could only get it on CD and I haven't had time the discs. Then I tried The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern but the start of that is HEAVY GOING!!! I haven't given up on it but I have set it aside til I'm less busy.

So Bring Me Back was my third choice. It was a 3 star read for me as I found it fairly predictable, BUT I'm very glad to get it off of my TBR :-)

How are you liking [book:Winter's Tale
?
It's one of my chunky books I keep passing over.

Laura (Lclwags) (lclwags) | 698 comments Vicki - I didn't pay attention to the size of this book when I picked it! Actually, I really only noticed the author name and the title contained Winter. I wasn't expecting it to be a magical realism! From the description, I kind of expected a post apocalyptic love story. I'm enjoying it, but rushing through it. This may be one that I need to read again, slowly.

Laura (Lclwags) (lclwags) | 698 comments Does this count as title across the bottom? I wasn't sure if it has to be the very bottom thing on the cover. The author's name is below the title. Winter's Tale by Mark Helprin

Yes, it will work.

oh gosh, Margo ,you definitely had to work for this challenge! And only 3 stars after all that... I sure hope your next read is better!!! I definitely got the better end of the deal with our match-up, reading the Sparrow!

I'm interested to know what you think of it. That's a topic that runs near and dear to my heart and I'm definitely adding it to my list.

I think it's a must read. I found it better than Still Alice. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I'll have to give it a read, one of my aunts suffered from fairly early onset of dementia, and that was after a boat load of other medical issues through her life, and it was hard to ever get any true feel of her suffering because she could never really get the idea across once it set in.

message 164: by Saar The Book owl (new)

Saar The Book owl | 2648 comments I understand. It has just been since recently that there is more scientific information about it. Before that it wasn't really known.

Jenn | 3029 comments Awesome score Annerlee 🎉 Did you like Doomsday Book? I've been meaning to read it for years, but keep putting it off for some reason.

Janice (jamasc) | 59882 comments How's everyone doing for reporting? I'm missing reporting from:

Fiona & Rusalka
Marie UK
Sarah
Lisa

Please post your score if you've finished your books. Please let me know if I missed you.

Don't worry, I have some ideas about people whose partners didn't finish. I will share those before I award badges.
