Joseph Slonaker | 27 comments I think we can all agree the first quarter or third of a book either pushes you away or pulls you in. I'm looking for some feedback as to which my book does. It is finished, but I can't offer all of it due to the fact that I am still working with my editor on the remaining portion of the book.

Quick blurb:
Jill, a once popular and now reemerging singer, is forced to face a dark spot from her past, her ex-boyfriend. Recently released from jail, he searches her out with intent to hurt, maim, or worse.

Like I said, I'm just looking to see what the interest level is, if I keep the audience engaged, etc. If interested, I could keep feeding chapters as my editor and I get through them.

Many Thanks!!

Sharon Umbaugh | 382 comments Hi,

Your blurb sounds like you may have written a compelling novel. I offer a beta-reading service and can provide you with more details. If interested, please email me at sharonumbaugh@gmail.com

Thanks,

Joseph Slonaker | 27 comments Sharon,
That's very kind of you. If by "service" you are implying you would like to beta-read the first few chapters I've written simply because you love reading, I'm game. If your service requires some sort of monetary fulfillment, I'll pass.

Many Thanks,
Joe

Joseph Slonaker | 27 comments I apologize if that sounded rude. I certainly didn't mean it that way. I know all too well that typed words can be read with unintended malice.

Apologies,
Joe
